Government Medical College, Anantnag (GMC Anantnag) is a renowned medical institution, imparting medical education of the best quality in Jammu and Kashmir. The admissions are highly scrutinized so that the best and most deserving persons for the MBBS batch are chosen. GMC Anantnag is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) stipulating that the institution stands to high standards of medical education. The admissions for GMC Anantnag are done through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), which is an entrance examination for medical courses across the country.

The selection process is based entirely on the NEET-UG score and the subsequent counselling sessions. GMC Anantnag does not conduct any other entrance exam or interview.
Degree wise Admission Process
MBBS: Admission to the MBBS course at Government Medical College, Anantnag is entirely based on the performance of the candidate in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG). There are a total of 100 seats in the MBBS course. Candidates must qualify NEET-UG at least at a minimum percentile prescribed by the National Medical Commission to be eligible for consideration in the admission process.
