Government Polytechnic College, Kalamasrery, is one of the most famous technical colleges located is Ernakulam District of Kerala which was started in the year 1951. This affiliated college that is couple with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) presents number of diploma courses in distinct fields of engineering. Located in a vast campus of 45 acres,the total number of student intake is 919 and the total members in faculty is 47. In technical education, the college offers seven diploma courses in various disciplines as full time programmes.

Government Polytechnic College offer students with befitting environment for their academic and personal achievements. The infrastructure in the IT field of this institution is excellent with having many computer laboratories connected in the network and 3 Mbps lease line for internet connection. The few students who may need a place to live are catered for with a hostel for male students that has a resident tutor, and a mess. Today there are modern laboratories for each department in the college, which allows students to gain practical experience. Other facilities include an assembly hall for purposes of conducting meetings, seminars, and other related functions; a dining facility; sporting facilities; a gym; and a health care centre with a first aid unit.

The college offers total approved intake for all the courses enlisted above are 370 seats so there is no dearth of opportunities for the youth willing to be engineers.
