The college has A Library is a treasure house of knowledge. The Library supports the curriculum of the institution. More than 20,000 books are available in our Library in various subjects.  

The computer labs housing more than networked computers cater to the computing requirements of both staff and students. The computer labs offer a mix of Dual Core and Core 2 Duo and thin technology-based terminals connected to servers. A dedicated 3 Mbps lease line has been installed to provide an uninterrupted internet facility round the clock with 125 KVA UPS for backup. GPTC also has two CADD lab facilities that provide a modern facility for instruction in a variety of computer software packages. The Common Computing Facility (CCF) forms an important component of the Institute’s infrastructure, providing a wide spectrum of services to the students as well as faculty and staff involved in research and other academic activities.

The college has only men’s hostels which is named Periyar. The men’s hostel is situated left side of the college within the campus amidst a glistening panoramic view. GPC Kalamassery offers ample hostel facilities for the students. Since an ideal hostel must be, in essence, a home away from home, the facilities offered here are designed to provide a sense of belonging, security, and care as well as a spirit of independence, within reasonable limits. Periyar Hostel has 30 rooms and can accommodate 90 students. Hostels are under the control of the Warden, assisted by a Resident Tutors(RTs) and two assistant resident tutors(ARTs).

The college has strong Alumni is the strength of any institution and Government Polytechnic College, Kalamassery has been blessed abundantly in this regard. The alumni of the college include some well-known figures who have made their imprint on various strata of society. The role played by the institution in molding them into what they are today is so deep-rooted that the alumni always make it a point to return to their alma mater and assist in its progress in whichever way they can. The institution conducts periodic alumni meetings and it is happy to acknowledge the pivotal role it plays in taking the institution to greater heights.

The college also has a Training and placement cell that continuously strives to help students pursue their career goals by acquiring employment-seeking skills and ultimately attaining desired employment.  

The concept of smart class education is indeed a blessing to the students of the 21st Century. Smart classes use all interactive modules like videos and presentations and these visually attractive methods of teaching become appealing to students who are already struggling with the traditional method of teaching in a classroom. Almost all the classrooms in our college are equipped with an LED Projector, good quality wooden furniture, fans, tube lights, wall clocks, etc.

The college also encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities such as NSS, NSS, etc.

The college also provides club facilities for all the students like the Entrepreneurship Development Club, and Bhoomithra Sena Club.
