Government Polytechnic College, Perundurai (GPC Perundurai) is a pioneering technical college which started its journey in the academic year 2013-14 located in Tamil Nadu, South India. Established and recognised by Kongunadu College of Education, this affiliated college is situated at Karumandichellipalayam, Sanitorium PO, Erode and situated in an 8.23 acres of land. Recognised by All India Council for technical Education AICTE new delhi, the college provides various Level diploma programmes in engineering fields. With a student capacity of 578 the college has the strengths of having a faculty team of 11 members. The institute has currently five full time diploma courses, each of three years duration to meet the engineering requirements.

Government Polytechnic College, Perundurai offers a variety of facility structures for the improvement of students educational process in GPC Perundurai. To support the academic programmes, the college encompasses labs that will resolve the practical preparation requirements of the various departments. There is a gym interest for those with physical exercising and body building minute’s list on campus. It also has an auditorium that is used from time to time to host one event or another or a seminar or workshop. A two-bedroom guest house is also available for visiting faculty while a waiting area for students’ families is also available for use.

For male students there is the boys’ hostel which accommodates student and the facility is known to be very good. This is a common area that accommodates student and members of staff for break and sourcing of food stuffs. College libraries are at the centre of the academic resources that a student would need to undertake throughout his college tenure. The ER has good IT system in place, GPC Perundurai also boast of having strong IT facility, in lieu of present age. Finally, the college does organise an alumni association whereby it caters for the needs of its students after they have joined the market.

All diploma courses that are provided in the institute are full-time programmes of study and the institute provides five diploma courses. These courses come under the field of engineering and offer a large number of course combinations for a student to select from. Total number of students allowed in all the courses is 300 and for each course, the student intake is limited to reach 60 students. This helps in achieving a good students- faculty ratio which is key to achieving quality delivery of knowledge delivery. All the offered classes are traditional college, campus-based classes, aimed at developing a profound theoretical and practical cognition of the respective fields.

The admission procedure of the Government Polytechnic College, Perundurai is kept simple and quite easy for students. Although, the particularities of the admission procedure are not detailed, it is known that some polytechnic colleges in Tamil Nadu allow students to be admitted according to their performance in their 10th standard or it’s equivalent. Probable the admission policy of the college gets aligned to the norms laid down by the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu. At 6,396 rupees per course, the institute fees for each of the diploma courses is very pocket friendly to allow for the expansion of quality technical education to as many students as possible.
