Gajendragad Government Polytechnic, located in Gajendragad, Karnataka. Diploma programs in various engineering disciplines are conducted here. The institute is recognized by the AICTE and is well reputed for its structured admission process, endeavoring to select deserving candidates for its programs. The polytechnic admits students totaling to 220 students, and it promotes a fair and merit-based admission process. At Government Polytechnic, Gajendragad admissions are done purely based on merit within each category of reservation. This helps maintain diversity in the student body and promotes merit-based academic excellence. The institute, in a sense of social justice and inclusive growth in technical education, reserves 50% of its seats for different social backward classes.  

For eligibility, the candidates must pass 10th Standard (SSLC) from a recognized board. Application Process

1. Notification: The institute publishes an admission notification on its website and local newspapers announcing the opening of the admission process.

2. Application Form: Candidates can obtain the application form either from the website or in person by visiting the institute.

3. Form-filling: Candidates must fill up the application form, which includes their personal details and academic information, with utmost care. Applicants should check that all the provided information is correct; wrong information may affect admission during processing.

4. Annexing the Documents: The application, along with other prescribed documents, namely

• SSLC (10th standard) mark-sheet
• Transfer Certificate
• Caste certificate (Only in cases applicable for reservation category)

5. Application Submission: Application forms along with the attachments are to be submitted to the institute before the specified date. Applications received after this date are usually not considered.

Degree wise Admission Process

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: The approved intake is 60 students. Admission is granted on merit basis according to each category of reservation. 50% of the seats are reserved for various societal groups while the other 50% are allocated based on the marks scored in the SSLC. 

Diploma in Civil Engineering: Similar to Mechanical Engineering, this program allows an intake of 60 students. Admission is based on merit selection among reservation categories and SSLC performance.

Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering: This program has an approved intake of 30 students. Admission criteria remain consistent with other programs, on merit and reservation basis.

Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering: The program has an intake of 30 students, and follows the institute's standard admission process considering merit and reservation categories.

Diploma in Automobile Engineering: This program also has an intake of 30 seats and follows the admission procedure for other diploma programmes in the institute.
