The college offers a plethora of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across different fields. The college generally starts the admission procedure for the upcoming academic year just a few months prior to the opening of the new session. To be eligible for undergraduate courses, candidates should have passed the 10+2 examinations from an approved board. Postgraduate admissions are done in various subjects, including Hindi, History, Sociology, Political Science, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Commerce. The candidates applying for these programs should have completed their Bachelor's Degree in the relevant field from an acknowledged University.
Application Process
The M.Phil procedure at Government Post Graduate College, Sonebhadra, generally involves the following:

Degree-wise Admission Process
BA: The Bachelor of Arts degree program of Government Post Graduate College, Sonebhadra, is intended to be a general liberal education in the arts. Admission to undergraduate study programs is by merit, depending on the percentage scores that an applicant achieves in the final 10+2 examination. The college has only 420 seats for BA.
B.Com: For aspiring commerce specialists, there is the opportunity for entry into a Bachelor of Commerce program, which is entirely based on merit concluded by marks of the 10+2 level examination, with specific importance placed on commerce-related subjects. There are 320 seats for B.Com.
B.Sc: The Bachelor of Science with two streams, Bio Group and Maths Group, is admitted based on the academic performance of the candidates in their 10+2 examination, particularly in regard to science subjects. The total number of seats may be divided varies for each group.
MA: The postgraduate degree programs are offered in Hindi, History, Sociology, Political Science, Economics. To enroll for these postgraduate programs, students are generally expected to have secured a Bachelor's degree in the area of interest or closely related subject. Other considerations probably would include the undergraduate marks obtained by the candidate and, in some situations, an entrance test or interview.
M.Sc: The M.Sc programs are offered in Physics, Chemistry, and Zoology. For admission to these programs, applicants must possess a bachelor degree in the relevant science discipline. Merit-based selection with consideration to the performance of the aspirants during the undergraduate will be adopted.
M.Com: M.Com is one of the options for students who wish to further their studies in Commerce. Admission into this program is mostly granted based on merit attained in the B.Com or equivalent degree.
