Government Thirumagal Mills College, Vellore, is a renowned college with a large number of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses. The college has a merit-based admission system, as per the Government of Tamil Nadu regulations.

Application Process

1. Admissions Announcement: The college makes a public announcement about the start of the admission process on its official website and local newspapers.

2. Application Form: The application form can be procured from the college office or downloaded from the official website, if provided.

3. Filling Application: The applicant has to fill in the form correctly, entering all personal and academic information required.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc: The college provides several B.Sc courses such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, and Computer Science. Admission is granted on the basis of 10+2 merit marks, according to the guidelines provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Few courses like B.Sc Physics are also available in the Tamil medium.

BCA: The Bachelor of Computer Applications course has a merit-based admission, keeping in view the marks secured in the qualifying examination (10+2).

BBA: Admission to the Bachelor of Business Administration is strictly merit-based, as per the Government of Tamil Nadu's rules.

B.Com: The Bachelor of Commerce is also admitted through a merit system, taking 10+2 marks into account for the applicants.

BA: The college has BA courses in Economics, History, Tamil, and English. Admission is through merit-based system as per government regulations.

M.Sc: Postgraduate courses in Computer Science, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics are offered. Admission is on the basis of marks scored in the respective bachelor's degree.

MA: MA courses in Economics, English, Tamil, and History are offered by the college. Admission is on the basis of marks scored in the respective bachelor's degree.

M.Com: Admission to the Master of Commerce course is on the basis of performance in the B.Com or equivalent degree.

MCA: The intake for Master of Computer Applications is approved to be 15 students. Admission will probably be based on performance in the concerned bachelor's degree.

M.Phil: The college provides M.Phil courses in different streams. Admission may involve scrutiny of the master's degree marks and maybe an interview.

Ph.D: Doctoral studies are offered in various fields. Admission is normally based on a scrutiny of the candidate's master's degree record and can be followed by a written examination and/or interview.
