The College has a hostel of its own on the eastern bank of Dighalipukhuri. It is named after the poetess and the renowned litterateur, the late Nirmal Prabha Bardoloi, who was one of the famous alumni of the Institution. The College Hostel may be considered an integral part as well as an extension of the Institution. The atmosphere of the Hostel reflects the true multiplicity of divergent cultures of the region. As such the students are required to maintain a healthy community atmosphere in the Hostel.
The college has a medical facility with a well-furnished sick room.
The College has a modern computerized college library is an invaluable aid to the young scholar. The college has a state-of-the-art library building spreading across two floors with a 458 sq. mt. area. The library is named Rajabala Das Library in honor of the founder and Principal of the College. The library has an impressive collection of books, journals, newspapers, and magazines, e-resources like CD/DVD, e-journals, e-books, bibliographic databases, etc. The library with its open access system and the spacious reading area provides an atmosphere conducive to the excitement of mental discovery. Students are encouraged to become sagacious users of the library which is a welcome haven for intellectual pursuits. Moreover, each department of the College has an individual library called the departmental library, which provides additional help to students and teachers in their academic pursuits.
The College has a small playground within its campus. The playground has a badminton/volleyball court and a permanent basketball court. There are also facilities for table tennis in the College. Students and the faculty are encouraged to use the sports facilities after class hours.
The College has an air-conditioned Central Computer Centre with 32 sets of high-end desktop computers and a high-speed 50 Mbps broadband line provided by AMTRON under the ASWAN Project. Both students and faculty members use this facility to access the internet, download materials, scan and take print-outs of the materials of their interest and do other computer-based tasks.
The college cafeteria serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items. The cafeteria does not disappoint in terms of diversity or quality of food. The students can relish detectable food at times. It caters to the canteen requirements on the college campus. The canteen is also provided with UV-treated filtered drinking water setup along with water coolers. A similar safe drinking water facility also exists at yet another point on the ground floor of the college.
The College has an adequate number of well-furnished classrooms to run the various academic programs. A few of the classrooms are equipped with LCD projectors to facilitate an improved teaching-learning environment for both the faculty and the students. The College also has well-equipped laboratories attached to the departments in which the curriculum involves practical works.
The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.
The College has a fitness center which is set up with financial assistance from the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Centre is equipped with a treadmill, cross trainer, cycle, and other modern fitness equipment. The College has appointed a Gym Instructor to train students and the faculty. The facility can be accessed by the students and the faculty by paying a nominal amount as a joining fee.
The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.
The college has good networking for the alumni association.
The management of the Hostel Mess is generally undertaken by a group of students from among the boarders. The Mess Secretary, Manager, and Student Representatives will be appointed by the Warden in consultation with the boarders. Every student residing in the hostel must join the mess attached and take the meal in the allocated space for the mess. Students have to pay the requisite mess fees in the hostel. Exemption of mess fee on any ground is not allowed. Every boarder shall have to pay the monthly mess dues on or before the 15th of every month, failing which a fine of Rs.10 will be charged for each day. Full mess dues must be paid every month which will be kept by the Warden. No reduction will be granted for absence from the hostel. Guest charge (to be paid in advance) is Rs 100 per day per person. No student is allowed to take meals or utensils to the room. Only under special circumstances such as illness with the permission of the Warden, the student may be allowed to take her food in her room. Individual cooking is not permitted. They are not allowed to cook anything in their rooms. There will be fixed slots for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as notified in the hostel mess. No student can force mess staff or hostel management committee for food after the allotted time slot. Any extension in timing is permissible with prior approval of the Warden. No wastage of food will be accepted. Meal timings must be strictly adhered to by the residents: Morning Tea: 6:00 am Morning Meal: 8:00 am to 8:30 am Lunch: 2:00 pm Evening Tea: Winter – 6:00 pm & Summer – 6:30 pm Dinner: 8:00 pm to 8:30 pm
My College is very beautiful. My College had old buildings The space of our College is not sufficient The College environment is good The College is situated in a good place where we can enjoy natural beauty.
I have completed my graduation in BA with Economics major. My college infrastructure was not that good. Bathroom was not good. Building was old. College Space was also very small. Though location wise its good but still I would say infrastructure was poor.
Yes the college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. Earlier there were only normal boards but now when recently visited the college there were projectors in the college.We have decent library and had no enough sports facilities.
