Handique Girls College, Guwahati has a well-structured wide range of facilities on campus. Girls Hostel
The hostel is located on the eastern bank of Dighalipukhuri and is named after a poetess and a renowned literateur, the late Nirmal Prabha Bordoloi. Students living in the hostels belong to different cultures, which maintains a healthy community atmosphere in the hostel.
Medical/Hospital
There is a healthcare centre for providing first-aid facilities to students and staff members in the campus.
Library
A modern and computerised library is available in the campus over 458 sq. mt. area. The library has a collection of books, journals, newspapers, magazines and e-resources. The library has a reading space for the students as well.
Sports
A small playground is in the campus, with a Badminton/Volleyball court and a permanent Basketball court in it. There are facilities for table tennis as well. Students and faculty members are urged to use the sports facilities after class hours.
I.T Infrastructure
The college has an air-conditioned Central Computer Centre with 32 sets of high-end desktop computers and a high-speed 50 Mbps broadband line.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria offers a number of varieties of food, UV-treated filtered drinking water and water cooler facilities.
Laboratories
The College has an adequate number of well-furnished classrooms to run the various academic programs. A few of the classrooms are equipped with LCD projectors to facilitate an improved teaching-learning environment for both the faculty and the students. The College also has well-equipped laboratories attached to the departments in which the curriculum involves practical works.
Auditorium
An auditorium with a huge seating capacity is available in the campus for conducting seminars, conferences, cultural events and more.
Gym
There is a fitness centre, well-equipped with a treadmill, cross trainer, cycle and other modern fitness equipment. Gym trainers are also assigned to train students and staff members. The nominal amount is charged as a joining fee.
Wifi
HGC Guwahati Wi-Fi facility is offered in different parts of the campus to students and staff members for accessing online resources.
Alumni Associations
The alumni associations are created to maintain a healthy and interactive conversation between Alumni, students and the college.

College Infrastructure

Our college infrastructure is not that good classrooms needs renovation and new paint. And more classrooms. Canteen is good. Wifi doesn't work in whole college and network issues. Workers doesn't clean the classrooms. Washroom is very very dirty not hygiene at all

People who are thinking of coming here, don't.

College Infrastructure

The college could use some improvement. The college lacks the security and safety requirements considering that it's an all girls college. The college could use cleaning. Specially in the washrooms. They are so filthy.

College Infrastructure

Handique girls college is a well maintained campus located in a prime location. It is an old campus , The classrooms and labs are decent but could use modernization. The library is well-stocked, and hostel facilities are available but limited. Basic sports and extracurricular spaces exist, but infrastructure improvements would enhance the experience.

can i apply for bca without maths in high secondary

Hello aspirant,

YEs, you can apply for BCA (Bachelors in computer Application) course after class 12th without having Mathematics or Computer Science in your class 12th. You can even apply for this course if you are from Commerce background.

the eligibility criteria for BCA Course is that candidates must have been Passed in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* with pass in English (core or elective or functional.
