B.Tech Marine Engineering Lateral Entry at HIMT College Chennai Offline Course

Engineering College Graduates (Mechanical/Electrical):-

Education: Candidates who have passed the 1st year from an Engineering College in streams like Mechanical or Electrical, approved by AICTE, with a minimum of 60% average marks. OR

Diploma Holders in Engineering:-

Education: Candidates who have passed a 3-year Diploma Course in Mechanical / Marine / Electrical / Electrical and Electronics, from colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education, with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the last year of the Diploma Course. OR

Alternate Training Scheme Graduates:-

Education: Candidates who have completed the 1st year of training from the Alternate Training Scheme, approved by D.G. Shipping.

Note: This criterion is not applicable to MERI. OR

Diploma in Shipbuilding Engineering:-

Education: Candidates who have passed a 4-year Diploma in Shipbuilding Engineering from colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education, with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the last year of the diploma course. OR

Diploma in Specific Engineering Streams:-

Education: Candidates who have passed a 3-year Diploma Course in the following engineering streams, from colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education, with a minimum of 55% of aggregate marks in the last year of the Diploma Course.

Mechanical Engineering Stream: Automobile / Machine Tools and Maintenance / Plant Engineering / Production Technology / Production Engineering / Advanced Diploma in Tool and Die Making.

Electrical Engineering Stream: Electrical Power System.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering Stream: Digital Electronics / Electronics and Communications / Electronics & Telecommunication / Industrial Electronics / Electronics / Electronics Production & Maintenance / Instrumentation / Instrumentation & Control.

General Requirement for All Candidates:-

English Proficiency: All candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the English language at the 10th Std./12th Std./Degree/Diploma course conducted by a recognized Board or University.
