About HIMT College Chennai
Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training (HIMT) Kalpakkam was established in 1998. HIMT is India’s largest maritime institute and is located in Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu. HIMT Kalpakkam is affiliated to Indian Maritime University and is also approved by the Directorate General of Shipping. HIMT Kalpakkam courses include various Undergraduate (UG) courses. HIMT Kalpakkam courses include Diploma, B.Sc, B.E/B.Tech. Before applying for the HIMT UG courses, candidates are required to satisfy the specified eligibility criteria. Also, candidates should have a valid scorecard of the Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET).
HIMT admission will be based on the scores obtained in the IMU CET entrance exam and candidates' performance in past academics. In order to get HIMT admission, candidates are required to clear all the selection stages. The HIMT Kalpakkam has a separate placement cell on campus to handle all the HIMT placement activities. HIMT Kalpakkam also offers scholarships to meritorious students. Also, HIMT provides all the facilities to their students. HIMT facilities include a library, sports facilities, IT infrastructure, cafeteria, laboratories, hostel, and much more.

Chetpet Railway Station is the nearest railway station and a 13-minute walk to HIMT Kalpakkam. Apart from that Chennai Egmore Railway Station is also the nearest one, which is 18 minute walk only. If someone chooses an air route to reach the HIMT Chennai, then they have to board at Madras airport. The distance between HIMT Chennai and Madras airport is only 20.1 km. One can take a cab or bus service from the airport to reach HIMT Chennai.

Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training (HIMT) Kalpakkam offers admission to its diploma and undergraduate (UG) courses in the Engineering and Architecture and Sciences streams. HIMT admissions are offered to Diploma, B.Sc, and B.E/B.Tech courses. HIMT admission is offered on the basis of candidates' performance in IMU CET, along with candidates' performance in the qualifying exam.
Following that, shortlisted candidates for HIMT admissions will be called for the further round. Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training admission will be done after the document verification and payment of the course fee. Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training (HIMT) offers Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) is a full-time undergraduate degree programme. The course education of B.Sc is 3 years and for B.Tech the duration is 4 years.

Our Campus has excellent infrastructure facilities with a ship in campus, smart classrooms with air conditioning, world class VR labs, auxiliary machine workshops, neat and clean hostels, swimming pool, advanced electrical labs, football ground, basketball courts, indoor games and many more.

Yes, Himt college has all the facilities and equipment. The classrooms are equipped with smart boards. The college do have a swimming pool and gym. There’s a ground of playing cricket football and all.
