Priority is given to candidates who have studied Commerce or commerce subjects in their higher secondary studies.

BA (Bachelor of Arts): BA with seven subjects of major study is run by the college, viz. Assamese, English, Economics, Education, Political Science, Sociology, and general BA course. For all these major subjects, it is done on merit basis. Admission to all major subjects considers the overall performance of the candidate in the 10+2 exam with special focus on marks secured in the concerned subject opted by the candidate as the major study subject.

BA Assamese Major: The students for the BA Assamese Major course are admitted on merit, i.e., their performance in the 10+2 exam in the Assamese language and literature subject.

BA English Major: In the BA English Major program, admission also is merit-based but considering the merit of the candidate specifically in English based on his/her performance at the 10+2 level.
