Mahatma Gandhi Ayurved College Hospital and Research Centre, Wardha, is a prestigious institution providing holistic education in Ayurvedic medicine. MGACHRC has established a name for its highly rigorous academic programs and ultra-modern infrastructure. The college strictly adheres to a merit-based admission procedure, admitting only the most deserving candidates for its different programs.

The admission cycle in MGACHRC usually coincides with the national entrance examinations schedule. For undergraduate courses, admissions start after the declaration of NEET results, mostly in the summer season. For postgraduate courses, admissions are done following the AIAPGET exam timeline, which generally takes place during the latter half of the year.

For the BAMS program, the candidate should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. In general, the minimum aggregate is 50% marks in the qualifying examination. Candidates seeking admission in the postgraduate course must have a BAMS degree from a recognized university.

The two major entrance exams accepted by MGACHRC for admissions are as follows:

  1. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for BAMS admissions
  2. All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) for MD/MS Ayurveda admissions

The selection process is transparent and based entirely on the performance in these entrance exams, followed by counseling sessions for seat allocation.

Application Process

The application process for MGACHRC varies with the program:

For BAMS:

  1. Qualify NEET examination with required percentile/score.
  2. Register for the state-level or central counseling process, as applicable.
  3. Choose MGACHRC and BAMS course during the counseling process.
  4. If allotted a seat, report to MGACHRC for document verification and admission formalities.
  5. Pay the required fees to confirm admission.

For MD/MS Ayurveda and MD Kaumarbhritya:

  1. Qualify AIAPGET examination.
  2. Apply for AYUSH admissions counseling
  3. During the counseling, pick MGACHRC and the most preferred speciality
  4. If the seat is allocated to you, appear at MGACHRC for documentation verification and admit
  5. After all such processes, payment of fees is done for getting admitted

Degree wise Admission Process

BAMS: The BAMS course at MGACHRC has an annual intake of 60 students. Admission is done on the basis of the NEET score and subsequent counseling process. The duration of the course is 5.5 years with one year of internship.

MD/MS Ayurveda: MGACHRC offers various postgraduate courses in Ayurveda with a total of 38 seats across 8 specializations. Admissions are done on the basis of AIAPGET scores. The available specializations include:

  1. MD Rachana Sharir (4 seats)
  2. MD Samhita Siddhant (4 seats)
  3. MD Dravyaguna (4 seats)
  4. MD Agadtantra (6 seats)
  5. MD Rasasastra (6 seats)
  6. MD Panchkarma (6 seats)
  7. MD Kayachikitsa (6 seats)
  8. MS Shalya Tantra (6 seats)

MD Kaumarbhritya: This is a specialized postgraduate program with 6 seats and entrance through the AIAPGET merit.

On an average the documents needed in the admission include:

  • scorecard for NEET / AIAPGET
  • mark sheet and certificate issued for 10th and 12th
  • degree of BAMS (in case the admission is given for PG
  • valid Id proof
  • Domicile certificate if and when required.
  • Category certificate, if any
  • Passport-sized recent photographs
