MAHE Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital (MINDS), Mahe, Pondicherry, is one of the world-class dental education centers. The institute has undergraduate and postgraduate courses in dentistry with a competitive admission procedure to pick the best candidates. MINDS is accredited by the Dental Council of India (DCI) and is NAAC accredited, maintaining high standards of education.
The answer at MINDS rests on national-level entrance tests. Undergraduate students have to pass the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). The admission to postgraduate courses depends on performance in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS (NEET-MDS). Both of these tests are held every year, out of which the application for NEET-UG is typically open during February-March and that for NEET-MDS usually begins in February.
For MDS courses, one needs a BDS degree from an institution that has been approved by DCI, have successfully done a one-year mandatory rotating internship, and cleared the NEET-MDS examination. Choice to postgraduate programs is via performance index awarded by the score obtained in the NEET-MDS examination.
