Mother Theresa Postgraduate and Research Institute of Health Sciences (MTIHS), Puducherry, is the premier institution that has been recognized to impart different courses related to healthcare and allied sciences.  National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited MTIHS along with approvals from prominent governing bodies including the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and Indian Nursing Council (INC), which validates the quality of education upheld in all programs offered by the institute.

Application Process

Generally, the application process for MTIHS courses takes after:

1. Visit the official website  and check the listed courses for admission notification by the concerned program.

2. Obtain and fill the application form as per the course. Ensure that the details are duly filled in.

3. Pack all relevant documents, including typically:

• Passport Size Photographs
• Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, and/or previous degree)
• Transfer Certificate
• Conduct Certificate
• Community Certificate (if applicable)
• Other certificates as mentioned by the institute

4. Application forms fully completed affixed with all documents are to be forwarded to the admission office of the institute before deadline dates.

5. Paying the application fee specified by the institute. The amount of fees and the mode of payment will be mentioned in the notification.

6. Then, for merit admission, he has to wait for the merit list to be declared. The merit list is prepared generally on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Pharma: MTIHS grants 60 seats for the B.Pharma program. Admission is on merit basis, which considers the qualifying examination (10+2 done with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics).

B.Sc Nursing: The students can enroll for the B.Sc Nursing program that has a total of 80 seats and must have completed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for selection based on merit in the qualifying examination.

BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy): MTIHS provides 50 seats for the BPT program with admission on merit considering marks scored in the 10+2 level by the student in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology: Of the total 50 seats for the program, admission is based on merit per the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery): This institute will provide general nursing and midwifery courses for 40 students. The admissions to this course will be on merit basis according to the candidate's scores at 10+2 level.

B.Sc Medical Radiography and Imaging Technology: MTIHS has a limited number of 30 seats for this program. Admission is purely based on merit in the former qualifying 10+2 physics and chemistry based biology exam.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: This program has 25 seats offered at the institute. Candidate must possess a GNM certificate, and admission is on a merit basis.

M.Pharma: MTIHS has M.Pharma specializations Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, and Pharmacognosy, each with 4 seats. Admission is on merit considering the qualifying B.Pharma degree.

MPT (Master of Physiotherapy): The institute offers schemes for Orthopaedic, Neurological, Cardio Respiratory, Paediatric, and Obstetrics and Gynecological Physiotherapy with 2 packets each. Admission is based on merit in the qualifying BPT degree.
