Maulana Azad National Urdu University Polytechnic, Cuttack, is one of the new generation institutions for technical studies which was set up in the year 2018. It is a government polytechnic situated in Cuttack city of Odisha state and the institution occupies a small area of 5 acres. It is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which keeps with the governmental standards of the country. Focusing on diploma programmes, the polytechnic presents four courses to meet the needs of the future engineers. At present, the institute has a faculty team of 6 members including highly dedicated faculty who are keen to cultivate the next generation of technical talent.

Variety of facilities are provided for the improving of the learners’ outcomes. The campus is equipped with a good library and sufficient resources so that students get a right and appropriate knowledge. The various departmental laboratories with proper tools and equipment facilitates practical demonstration and use of the theoretical concepts learnt. Maulana Azad National Urdu University Polytechnic, also, has one of the best IT infrastructure to make sure that students are conversant with various current technologies. For students who need to be accommodated, the polytechnic has adequate hostels, for both male and female students so as to improve on their living and studying conditions. Also, the institution provides facilities for sporting activities within the school compound to ensure students develop into the best health wise and also unity amongst them.

Maulana Azad National Urdu University Polytechnic, Cuttack, offers a total of four diploma programmes in full of course duration of three years each. Such programmes offered are in line with engineering disciplines through offering students proper foundational skills required on the engineering discipline of their interest. The intake capacity for the institute is 240 students for all courses offered while each course shall have an intake of 60 students. This makes a positive adjustment in term of student-faculty ratio that will favor personalised teaching and learning activities. The courses are Diploma on Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Automobile Engineering.

The process for admission to Maulana Azad National Urdu University Polytechnic, Cuttack is easy and fair. The institute follows the tradition of holding an entrance examination every June which is the main avenue used to select students. This test measures the candidates’ ability and preparedness for technical education for which they are about to commence. Any intending students must pass this examination to gain admission into the polytechnic. Admission process that is followed through all four diploma programmes guarantees that no one programme is privileged through an easy admission process while other are subjected to tough admission processes.
