The college is affiliated to a university and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and it pursues an admission structure whereby capable and motivated students are to be selected for the engineering programs.

MCET coordinates its admission usually with the academic schedule, so the process starts most often in the months leading towards the commencement of the academic year.

Undergraduate-level programs require that candidates be qualified at least to the point of finishing 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects. It is expected that aspirants should have a thorough grasp of these subjects as foundations for engineering education, and scoring will be considered for the admission process of the college.

1. Announcement of Admission: Admission would primarily be advertised through the college's official website and other media.

5. Merit List: After obtaining academic and entrance exam performance (as applicable), a merit list of eligible candidates will be prepared.

6. Counselling and Seat Allocation: Shortlisted candidates are usually called for counselling, where candidates are free to choose their desired branch of engineering according to their rank and availability of seats.

7. Fee Payment: Candidates will need to pay the prescribed fees to confirm their admission after the allotment of a seat.

8. Document Verification: The college shall verify each of the documents submitted to check eligibility criteria.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech: MCET offers five B.Tech programs with a total intake capacity of 360 students. The programs include Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science. Mechanical Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering are the most subscribed programs with 120 seats each, while Petroleum Engineering and Civil Engineering have 60 seats each. The admissions in these programs are based on the performance of the candidate in 10+2 examinations and possibly relevant entrance exams.
