There are two buildings and a cultural hall. My department is very decorated. We have canteen, a library and a computer lab . There is no wifi on campus . We have a big union hall. My department has air-conditioned classrooms .
The teachers are well qualified. All of them are UGC NET qualified. They are very strict towards practicals . They are also very supportive and helpful towards students. The whole syllabus pattern follows University of Calcutta's pattern .
There is no such thing as placements . No proper placements are held. Students usually go for higher studies or government jobs . The college itself provides internships sometimes. They let us know about off- campus placements.
College fees are very affordable. The fees for my course was 10000 rupees per annum. I think the fees structure is good as students only want to get a degree from here .
All kinds of festivals are celebrated here. There is a program held in winters where singers like Sonu Nigam, Ankita perform.
New Alipore College library enrich with the last stock of more than 24000 books and subscription of journals and daily newspapers for both landing and reference purposes. College library also has a subscription of ebooks chemical database Britannica online, etc.
Teachers are very good. They are very knowledgeable. Their highly qualified and has a PhD holders. Semester exams are easy to pass turn the class is regularly. 33% is the passing percentage. The curriculum out here is fully updated.
This college is not good because students have to face many difficulties and another way they have to do some some courses for post graduation and related to that they have to go out for to study for post graduation.
The course cost for your is 10000 per annum.
This college organises many cultural fests including dance and music. It funds money to organise a great Durga Puja during festive season.
The college has only two buildings. It looks very old and there is no moderness in the college. College office people are very rude and lazy. The principle is the only who keeps the college together. The college also has a major role in politics and union.
The faculty is really good but their teaching quality is average. All they do is shout at students and load them with projects. They don't even take proper classes and make the attendance very mandatory.
There is no such thing as placements in government colleges. People just come here to complete their degree. All of who didn't get good marks come here to study except a few who has other reasons to choose. College is big on union and politics.
Ofcourse it is good value for money. You get practicals to do and get to learn a lot in small price. Like 5000
Campus life is good. There are alot of social events held in the college.
The infrastructure of the college is outstanding. The entire campus is well maintained on a daily basis. Wifi is available on every floor. The library is quiet and loaded with a collection of books based on their content. The main problem lies in the canteen as good quality food is not served.
Our teachers are very helpful qualified and knowledgeable. They help us a lot during the whole semester. Exams are easy to pass if you attend classes regularly. Most of the teachers are PhD holders. The college makes students industry ready.
In our college almost 80 percent of the students are placed in our course. The highest salary package offered was 10 LPA and the lowest package offered was 4 LPA. Companies like Wipro, TCS, Accenture and other companies visit our college.
The course cost me around 5,780 rupees per annum which is very cheap as compared to other colleges. The teachers are very supportive for the students.
There are not tech fest in our college bit we will arrange it soon. Our college has its football , cricket, volleyball, tennis, badminton teams. There are too many journals in our library and our library contains more than 28,900 books.
The college premises are clean and maintained. The Library also has enough books. Many recreational activities are also present. The department are also good and well maintained with projector facilities and enough lab requirements.
I am studying Anthropology Hons. The curriculum gets boring and feels out of date. A lot of syllabus also depends on mugging up the notes. The teachers are there to help in every step. They will also provide various notes for understanding.
There is no option for placement after this course. After the final exams, companies do visit the campus but they are very poor. Students generally go for masters in anthropology or go ahead to prepare for government exams.
The total cost if studying over three years will be around 20k. So, its is definitely on the expensive side.
The campus life is decent. The premises are clean. However, the washroom facilities could have been better. There is a positive environment overall. You can also participate in many competition and seminars as well.
The infrastructure is very old and there are only two buildings but the union tries to keep the college clean. The washroom are very smell and dirty and what would you expect from a government college. Few departments have AC.
The college is credited A grade/NAAC only because of its faculty and its principal. Not all but most of the professors are PhD holders including principal. The quality of teaching is good and they focus a lot on practicals.
There is nothing as such placement in the college because it's a government college and there is no such stream for technical department. Only B.com and B.A students come to attend their lectures as 75% attendence is compulsory.
The course costs 5,000 per year excluding examination fees and I think the money is worth to spend.
There are a lot of cultural and social programs held in the this college. College contributes a lot during Durga Puja and festive season to make it a wonderful blast to celebrate with people. Union council out here is very helpful and they make sure to keep the college ragging-free.
The college does have all the necessary infrastructure. The lab equipments are well-maintained and adequate. The college common room and canteen meets all requirements. However, the toilets could have been cleaner. But overall, nothing against the infrastructure.
I have studied BSc Anthropology Hons and the teachers have been quite helpful throughout the course. They were always there to help us with any doubts. However, the curriculum sometimes feels outdated and boring and must be revised. But the field work was a fun experience. The teachers are cordial enough to help in every possible way.
There are no options for good placement opportunities after graduation. If you attempt higher studies then maybe it can help you. Otherwise, don't expect any good placement opportunities from the college.
The field trip costs around 15k which can be deemed as expensive and not really value for money. Other than that, the semester tuition fees will vary from 1k to 3k which is worth it.
There are no hostel provisions as such which can be a negative point. However, the campus life is worth it. The seniors are good and supportive. It always has a positive vibe to it. Especially, there is no pressure for political involvement in any way.
Yeah, almost everything is good inside the college. All the classes are well equipped with all necessary amenities and with air conditioner. Proper library with a variety of books and laboratories are also well equipped.
The college faculty has a great number of teaching staffs and faculty members. Overall all the teachers have best teaching qualities in our department. All the teachers of our department possese great indepth knowledge and always helpful for our needs.
As it's a graduate college no such placements are given after the graduation. But nowadays a few career boosting cell are created which take few bsc graduates for certain internship but that's also not from all departments only a few selected ones.
Overall anthropology is a nice and good course. It holds a great variety and scope in various aspects. The overall cost of the course is 25k for 3years course which is almost minimum of all BSc courses. But the actual worth of the subject is when it is applied in foreign grounds rather than in Indian grounds as most of the infrastructure are often gets neglected and thus making it just a degree certificate course.
My own campus life is great till now. All the enjoyments and little moments makes it feel like a second home and all the teaching faculty is like second parents. And the college is also in a great position, the Rabindra Sarovar lake is nearby which is a great spot for roaming and the BP poddar hospital is also infront of the college any health related issues which requires hospitalized immediately can be possible. Overall the green campus also makes it good environment for studies.
Departmental laboratory is very well maintained. Also other facilities are available. But library needs improvement and also needs to include more anthropological books. Otherwise college environment is good.
I studied B.Sc. Anthropology honours in this college. Teachers are helpful. But more classes needs to include in routine. There is no direct placement but though the subject is mainly based on fieldwork so it will help you in future in many fields.
No such as placement offered by this course. But yes you can go further higher studies like forensic science, social science, archaeology, etc from this course. Also you can go research field. And also this subject helps you many competative exams.
This course required 10k-12k per year. I think not that much worth.
Campus are clean and well maintained.
Nothing to complain about the college infrastructure. The classrooms were adequate and spacious. The lab's implements were impressive and in good condition. And projectors and computers were an added bonus. The canteen was small but provided with all the basic amenities. The common room was also sufficient with enough recreational tools and games. The library facility was more than sufficient for general academics. However, the general hygiene of the bathrooms could have been better. Overall, the infrastructure was well above average.facility
So my graduation subject was Anthropology hons. Even if the subject is undoubtedly interesting to study, I can't disagree that sometimes the syllabus becomes way too tedious. Additionally, there were field works as semester projects that just added to the hectic burden. hover, the teachers are there to guide you. They will cover the basic parts of the syllabus but the rest is on you. But nothing against their teaching skills as such. However, sometimes they can be way too strict and demanding. It is overall a good subject for graduation, but if someone wants to pursue a career in anthropology, think twice about it before joining the branch.
The quality of placement after graduation is way too insignificant to talk about. In fact, none of the students from our batch sat into the placement process and are on their own after graduation. Unless and until someone goes on to pursue Masters, don't expect a great career out of it.
The best thing about the college is the value for money. The average semester costs varied from 1.5 to 3k and it was worth it. There were no additional costs. But one needs to keep in mind the one-time hefty fee that every student had to bear during the final year field project that was around 16k. Apart from it, there are no other money-related nuances.
This is a day college. So, there are no campuses in it. Every student opts for a daily commute from home or rents a separate hostel near the college.
