Nimra Womens College of Engineering, Vijayawada Admission Process

Nimra Women's College of Engineering (NWCE), Vijayawada, is an elite institution with a focus on the growth of women in engineering. Situated in Nimra Nagar, Ibrahimpatnam, Andhra Pradesh, NWCE provides undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering and management. The college has a careful admission process to choose appropriate candidates for its different programs.

The admission process at NWCE usually coincides with the academic schedule of Andhra Pradesh. Although exact dates are different every year, aspiring students are suggested to begin making their applications ready in advance, preferably at the start of the calendar year. The college is open to admitting students on the basis of both state and national-level entrance test scores for the purpose of admission, in order to ensure equal opportunities and competitiveness.

For the undergraduate courses (B.Tech), the students should have a 10+2 degree in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The college has B.Tech courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Each of these courses has four specializations for students to pick from.

Application Process

Nimra Women's College of Engineering application process is a step-by-step procedure:

1. Entrance Exam: The applicants should appear for the appropriate entrance test (state-level or national-level) based on the program of study they wish to pursue.

2. Application Form: After the result of the entrance exam is declared, shortlisted candidates can procure and fill the NWCE application form. This form can be found on the college website or at the admission desk.

3. Document Submission: Along with the filled-in application form, candidates must submit required documents, which are generally:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • Entrance exam score card
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Character certificate from the last attended institution
  • Migration certificate (for candidates from other states)
  • Recent passport-size photographs

4. Counselling: Shortlisted candidates may be called for a counselling session where they can choose their preferred course based on their rank and seat availability.

5. Payment of Fee: After allotment of seats, candidates have to pay the fees as demanded to secure admission.

6. Verification of Documents: The college will check all documents submitted by the candidates. Admission is guaranteed only after document verification is done successfully.

7. Orientation: Admitted candidates are generally expected to attend an orientation session before classes start.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech: NWCE has three B.Tech programs: Electronics and Communication Engineering (120 seats), Computer Science Engineering (60 seats), and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (60 seats). All of these programs have four specializations. Admission to these programs will be based on the performance of the candidate in state-level or national-level entrance examinations for engineering. Eligibility is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

M.Tech: The college has M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering with 18 seats and two specializations. Admission is probably on the basis of GATE scores or a state-level PG entrance exam. The candidate should possess a relevant B.Tech or equivalent degree.

MBA: NWCE has an MBA program with 60 seats. Admission may look at CAT/MAT scores or a state-specific management entrance test. A bachelor's degree in any field is usually the minimum requirement for eligibility.
