The Central Library caters to the information needs of the institute faculty, students, staff, research institutions & industries. It has around 9000 plus books covering all disciplines of science, engineering, technology, humanities & Management Science. The collection comprises printed documents such as books, reports, and journal back volumes. The non-book collections include material like audio/video cassettes and CD ROM discs. It has a separate collection of prescribed textbooks under 'Book Bank' for the exclusive use of students. The Central library currently subscribes to around 100 scholarly journals in sciences, engineering, and humanities. Under the INDEST consortium and reputed publishers like IEEE, ASTMD, J GATE, EBSCO, ASME, the library provides online access to a large number of full-text journal databases. These e-journals are accessible on the internet to campus users only.

With a strong focus on the overall development of the student's personality, OIT has a robust sporting infrastructure. This includes facilities for cricket, tennis, basketball, volleyball, throw ball, badminton, indoor games, etc. These facilities have had a role to play in the institute having a strong sporting culture.

The College operates a fleet of busses, vans, and cars to transport students and staff from Trichy and nearby towns to college and back. These buses operate along 4 different routes starting from different points approximately between 6.30 and 6.45 a.m
