Paladugu Nagaiah Chowdary and Vijai Institute of Engineering and Technology (PNCVIET), Guntur, is a prestigious learning institution, over an area of 10.26 acres. PNCVIET has a merit-based admission process, providing admission to worthy candidates in its different postgraduate and undergraduate courses.
Admission cycle of PNCVIET would be parallel with Andhra Pradesh universities' academic calendar. Aspiring students must plan in advance for the admission at least a couple of months prior, generally starting from early months of the year. The institute offers most of the admissions based on scores of the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) to its B.Tech courses.
For B.Tech admissions, the candidates should have passed their 10+2 course with core subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Cutoff marks for AP EAMCET will be different from year to year depending on the performance of the candidates and number of seats available. Candidates should try to get high marks in the entrance examination in order to get admission in the desired course.
Application Process
The application process for PNCVIET depends on the course:
For B.Tech courses:
1. Attend the AP EAMCET organized by APSCHE.
2. Clear the test with a rank higher than the cutoff as determined by the institute.
3. Attend the counseling process organized by the state authorities.
4. Select PNCVIET and the preferred course during the counseling process.
5. If allotted a seat, report to the institute for document verification and admission procedure.
For M.Tech courses:
1. Generally candidates are required to take relevant entrance exams (e.g., GATE).
2. Direct application to the institute or centralized admission process, if applicable.
3. Selected candidates may be called for further rounds of selection, which may involve interviews or additional tests.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Tech: PNCVIET provides five full-time B.Tech courses: Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. All these courses are offered based on the candidate's performance in the AP EAMCET. The institute provides a total of 247 seats for all courses.
M.Tech: There are four M.Tech full-time courses carried out by the institute, that is, Computer Science and Engineering, Communication and Signal Processing, Machine Design, and Power Systems. Although precise admission information about M.Tech is not indicated, it could be that the institute takes entrance test scores received in relevant examinations and the candidate's performance during their UG degree.
