Hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck for your future

Hello student,

Congratulations for scoring such great percentile in MHTCET 2021. However, even at this good percentile, you have quite low chances of getting SPIT or DJSCE EXTC branch. Even then you can try for institutional rounds of each of both colleges and there might be some chances that there you may get admission.

Hello Aspirant,

Congratulations for attaining such a wonderful marks in MHT CET 2021.

On the basis of your marks in MHT CET you have a chance to attain a rank around 2000 as per previous year's record.

Based on this and mentioned category details you have a good chance to get seat in Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Mumbai for BE Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering as per last year's cut-off state rank.

Hi aspirant,

As you mentioned the JEE MAIN 2021 percentile which is not very promising.

So it seems you need to work hard more to join any of the good colleges.

Admission is based on rank which were declared on JoSAA website.

You can also use the JEE Main College predictor tool given below to know your other best admission possibilities.

Hello Aspirant,

See there is no any common cut-off for any specific branch but the cut-offs are for determining the eligibility for JEE-Advance like the expected qualifying cut-offs for this year :-

  • Common Rank List (CRL) - 90- 95 Percentile
  • GEN-EWS - 70- 75 Percentile
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 70- 75 Percentile
  • Scheduled Caste (SC) - 50- 55 Percentile
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 40- 45 Percentile
  • PwD - 1-2 Percentile

So if the candidate of any of the above category would be able to secure the above mentioned percentile (expected) then he/she would only be able to appear for JEE-Advance and CSE is offered in different institutes and different institutes have different cut-offs so you have to check for which college you are targeting. With General category if you are seeking admission in any NIT in CSE branch then you should aim for CRL under 20,000 .

Note that in above table it is not the actual cut-off for JEE-Main 2021 but expected on the basis of previous year's analysis. You can check out previous year's cut-off trends from the link given below :-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

Hello,

In all the state level colleges there are few seats reserved and given on the basis of JEE main examination and the percentage of the seats may differ from college to college. So as you are talking about SPIT hence, it has a 15 to 20 percent of seats which are allotted through the JEE main exam and also SPIT is one of the top level of college and due to less seats your marks should be very high in your examination so if you are setting for a target than at least it should be above 90 percentile to 95 percentile so that you will able to face the competition between the students.

Thank you..

Both the colleges are equally good with good placements, infrastructure and teaching facilities.Usually IT has a slightly better placements compared to EXTC but EXTC is also a growing branch. So i recommend you to chose the branch you like and wish to study if it is IT or EXTC as if you take the subject of your interest your skills and knowledge of subject will grow which will help you in future,

Hi Aspirant,

Sorry to tell you but you can't take admission into SPIT Mumbai on the basis of your 12th marks. The students have to qualify for the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) Exam to take undergraduate course. And a Non-Maharashtra candidate can also appear for MHT CET. So you can try giving MHT CET to take admission into SPIT.

For more information and clarification on SPIT admission procedures refer the link below,

Hope this helps.

Best of Luck!!!

Hello sanket,

In terms of placement - VJTI is better than SPIT,

In terms of extra curricular activities and opportunities both colleges are same they both provide you different opportunities, internships, they both have technical societies.

VJTI is one of the best college in Maharashtra, also it is one of the oldest engineering college in Asia.

If you want a very good environment, good placement and faculties like IIT, you can definitely go for VJTI.

I hope this helps,

Best of luck.

Hello,

SPIT was launched as a self- financed State College. The college strives to produce graduate Engineers with global competency and social sensitivity.

There are two modes of application to Sardar Patel College of Technology:

  • Centralized Admission: 80% admission is through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP).Therefore, the candidates are required to appear for MAHCET.
  • Institute Level Admission: 20% is the Institute level admission.

Now firstly talking about MAHCET Reservation :

  • 85% of the seats are reserved for the applicants from Maharashtra which is divided into 70% for HU and 15% for OHU.
  • For all the backward class categories: SC - 13%, ST- 7%, VJ/DT (NT-A)- 3%, NT-B- 2.50%, NT-C- 3.50%, NT-D- 2% and OBC-19% seats are reserved as per the guidelines given by Govt. of Maharashtra.
  • The candidates of J & K, there is 1 seat reserved in every Institution.
  • A provision for 15% reservation for Foreign Nationals/ PIO and  5 % of sanctioned intake for the wards of NRIs are also provided.
  • At the Institute level, 20% of seats are reserved.

So you see that there is no such thing as female reservation category.

Hope this helps!!!

College Infrastructure

There is a lot to see in this college and its infrastructure is world class because along with beauty, students also get very good accommodation here. The classrooms here are very big and one classroom has the capacity to accommodate 200 students.CCTV cameras are installed in every class and facilities like smart board and air conditioner are available.

the institute is academically oriented, peer group is strong

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

College has all necessary equipment and infrastructure and is renewed regularly, free WiFi is available upon registration, computer labs are new and updated, students take responsibility and maintain the labs, and regular feedback is taken. Hygiene is very good and living spaces are well maintained.

My 2 years at SPIT so far

College Infrastructure

SPIT as such doesn't have a good infrastructure ! Also deal with the fact even canteen was removed last year from the college. I suppose all the major maintenance goes to campus ! Overall , I would say college infrastructure is not that bright or high quality level or very attractive, and nowhere near to that of colleges under SVKM or even other engineering colleges like Thakur and others.
