Degree wise Admission Process
B.Com: Admission into B.Com is strictly merit-based, carried out through a government portal on a centralized basis. The college admits 140 students for this course. SC/ST/BC students are relaxed as per government rules.
B.Sc: B.Sc is provided by the college in Medical and Non-Medical courses. B.Sc Non-Medical has 210 seats and B.Sc Medical has 140 seats. Admission is done on the basis of 10+2 marks in relevant subjects.
BA: Different BA courses are available in morning and evening classes. English, Punjabi, and History are given maximum intake with 480 seats for each in morning shift. Admission is on the basis of marks in 10+2.
BCA and BBA: These are self-financing courses and have an intake of 40 in each course. Admission will be on the basis of merit in the entrance examination.
M.Com: The course has 40 seats. Merit-based admission is done through a government centralized portal. Minimum 50% marks in graduation is necessary for eligibility.
M.Com Business Innovations: The specialized course accepts students on the basis of the PU Entrance Test. It has 40 seats, and minimum 50% marks in graduation is necessary.
MA: There are several MA courses available - English, Economics, Hindi, Punjabi, and Geography. Each course usually has 60-120 seats. Admissions will probably be based on graduation marks.

There is no entrance exam for admissions in M.A in Satish Chandra Dhawan Government College, Ludhiana. The admission to M.A. Ist Semester will be based on merit only. A candidate who has passed a Bachelor's degree of 3 years duration (B.A. or equivalent) under 10+2+3 pattern from any recognized university to be eligible for this course. Master of Arts (MA) is a full-time two-year postgraduate course offered by the Panjab University, Chandigarh.
