Since it's an open University, there is no separate college of SOL but yes SOL have it's own infrastructure, one is south campus and another is North campus. Infrastructure is below average with not much facilities for students. I haven't tried the food there but cleanliness is again average.
I have studied B.com from SOL and they conduct weekend class, tied up with other colleges as SOL has no independent college of their own. Quality of teaching is also below average and no proper resources provided to us. Curriculum is same as other colleges but with negligible facilities. From knowledge perspective SOL doesn't make us job ready but yes it gives us a degree as licence to get a job with very low package.
Placement done by SOL doesn't offer good salary packages but yes those whose financial condition is not so good and who comes from very low income family background get a chance to be placed in the company and get some penny for their family.
Fee of SOL is slightly expensive. It's not a very pocket friendly. Cost of b.com course is rs.30k approx For 3 years. I don't think it's money worthy as no proper classes have been conducted by SOL, no practical exposure is provided, no extra curriculum activities is conducted by SOL. They only conduct exams with giving proper resources.
College has to 2 campus in Delhi, one in south and 2nd in north. South campus surrounding is not safe as it is in the middle of the market and crowd there is also not good. But yes north campus is much much better than south campus. North campus is very clean and properly guarded with guards and surrounding is also very good of North campus.
It's a good option for only those who are pursuing professional courses parallel to graduation.
My classes are held at Satyakaam Bhawan at the north campus, and the infrastructure is good; it covers all the basics, and the connectivity is also good. Faculties are always ready to help students. The only thing Satyakaam Bhawan is lacking is the CANTEEN.
I'm from the batch of 2024, and our batch is the first batch from SOL, DU, of the MBA, and it seems that the quality of books (particularly the content of the book) and studies is below par with the rest of the colleges at DU offering MBAs. But on the other hand, our faculty is top-notch and always available to help or clarify the concepts. SOL is following the same curriculum as offered in FMS, DU. But I think it will definitely improve its standard in the future.
As I mentioned before, our batch is the first batch of MBAs from SOL, DU. So it's better not to comment on placements. But still, as it is SCHOOL OF OPEN LEARNING, it's placement cell is not so good for other programs. and having just high hopes that placement cell will do the hard work for its student this time.
DU colleges are always the best in terms of value for money. For the 2024 batch, the 2-year fee will be around 1,20,000 lakhs and includes everything. And I think for the full-time employee or even for part-time employees, this is a good deal as he or she will have an MBA degree from the University of Delhi.
So basically, the School of Open Learning (SOL) does not have any sort of campus itself. But as SOL is part of the DU, the SOL arranges the classes on weekends in the other colleges. And on the weekdays, we are having online classes.
The college infrastructure is very impressive and well maintained and hygiene and all the facilities are available like canteen sports playground and laboratories and libraries is also there and the classroom
I have completed BA from their as the academics are very good and the quality of teaching is absolutely good and it is best college for the distance who do not want to the regular class only just go for the exams
Placement is ok overall not so bad some of the students get placed according to their skills and abilities and the placement is good overall and the teachers are also cooperative enhance the students knowledge
YES, THE COLLEGE HAVE ALL THE NECESSARY AND THE COLLEGE INFRASTRUCTURE, COLLEGE AMAZING AND PROVIDE ALL THE FACILITIES AND ALL THE FACILITIES LIKE LIBRARY AND WELL MAINTENCE CLASSROOM WITH THE GOOD DECORM OF THE ENVIRONMENT
I HAVE COMPLETED BA AS ITS OUR GOOD COLLEGE AND THE ACADEMICS OF THE COLLEGE AND MY FIELD THE FACULTY IS VERY SUPPORTIVE AND HELP THE STUDENT TO GROW THEIR SKILL AND ADOPT FOR MORE PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE
THE PLACEMENT IS VERY GOOD MOST OF THE STUDENT GET PLACED WITH GOOD PACKAGES THE PLACEMENT OF THIS COLLEGE IS ONE OF THE BEST FEATURES. COLLEGE IS VERY SUPPORTIVE IN TERMS OF THE PLACEMENT THE AVERAGE SALARY THAT IS OFFER TO STUDENT RANGE 8 LAKH TO 9 LAKH
The college in first structure of school of open learning is good and it is good with all the facilities as it has good and neat and clean classroom classroom and there is a library in the Delhi University colleges.
The academics is good and easy to understand. I am a serious student so I do not find it any difficulty while studying here as I was also preparing for my CS examination. The college also provide books material to the students.
School of open learning provide placement drive in which student get an opportunity for getting good place plan from the multinational companies. The college staff is supportive to the students and the quality of the placement is also good.
School of open learning provide distance learning courses so the fees of my course is not very high and expensive. I did my studying here under 10000 rupees. Yes I feel a student wil get money's worth .
As I also prepare for my CS examination so I do not take participation in the activities. The students teachers are not very supportive. There is no any cultural or refreshment activities for the students as the regular colleges have.
Yes the college has all the facilities. I have been there very often basically went just for registrations And collecting the study material before the examination. I have also used the facility of library.
Quality of teaching is quite low grade or we can say that this generally happens when we are enrolled in distance education programs . The study material which I collected was quite complicated and hence I did not even looked at it twice .
I don't think so that the college provides with the quality of placements. As personally did not experience this , also did not heard anyone who has managed to fetch an amazing placement. So basically they just provide a degree at the end of your education program.
Yes it was value for money as I guess I spent nearly 10K on a three year course and that was B.A PROGRAMME . Though it is an distance education platform but still manage to have a repo as it is associated with University of Delhi.
As I mentioned above that I went to college very few times , so don't really know the overall hospitality of the college . But whenever I went there they made us wait for hours even for a small thing.. students are roaming around with their queries.
It's just that if you are doing something well and full time , still you want to complete your education side by side then definitely you can go for this college as even the exams are easily cleared and also the study material is available in local areas.
Infrastructure is not at all good and there are no facilities and equipments. The classrooms are very dirty and there are no smart boards. There is always an electricity issue and there is no wifi in the campus.
I am pursuing bcom because i have a family business and i cant study on a regular basis. The curriculum doesnt get updated on a regular basis and the college is suitable only for those who are doing some other course side by side.
There is average placement opportunities for the students. The quality of placements is not good. The college staff is very rude and not at all supportive. The college environment is very unpleasant..
The course fees is 6500 per year approx. Also there is an examination fees which is 1200 approx. The college is suitable for those who are doing any other course side by side. The fees is reasonable..
Since it is an open University there is no campus life for the students. Otherwise there are few activities in the campus which includes sports and other creative things. The location is delhi and it is safe.
Average college
Everything was fine. The building itself is pretty old styled. Staff over there is good and helpful. They help and guide students all the time. There are some key points missing over there. There are no washrooms available and no drinking water facility available.
I studied Bcom from SOL. Never got any classes or anything although the study material itself is quite helpful. It's enough to pass the exam and gain knowledge. Curriculum, I think is not so up to date as the Education system has changed a lot. The subjects I studied there were not as useful as I thought.
They don't provide any kind of placements. It's a School of Open learning. They just provide study material and provide you a valid degree at the end of course. An Affiliated degree is what they provide. They don't provide any kind of placements
It cost me around 3000-4000 per year. It was good. By giving so less I was able to get a graduation degree. I'm satisfied.
Staff were helpful but no campus life at all as it is a open college. There are no classes or anything.
It's good. I must say it's not a bad University at all. If you're pursuing any other studies along with Graduation. It's a perfect University to complete your graduation alongside job or any course without even attending any classes regularly.
Then first picture of the college is good and brilliant as it has it provide the facility of library and canteen. Classroom has AC and these are neat and clean. University of Delhi has maintain its college in a proper way.
As I am in the second year of my MBA from School of Open Learning and the college provide two hours of online lecture at evening regularly. I have chosen finance from this college and they provide good knowledge and learning to the students.
The placement is good in the school of open learning they have conducted job melas for the students. School of Open learning also provide internship to those students who are not working. They also give light on the different current scenario.
When I took admission for MBA, I paid 47500 for 1 year but now then newly updated prospectus of DU SOL MBS has shown it around 55000 rupees for the MBA students. I think this is the correct fees as it also provide books material and life lecture to the students.
The college is safe as it can hold handle all the emergency and it give options to the students for taking classes. Student can choose there near a location. Teachers are supportive. If there any confusion occur then there are several email id and phone number to the technical team for getting the correct information.
Delhi University is a prime and centre University which has around 75 colleges and all these colleges are allotted by the school of open learning for conducting the final examination of the students and conducting the classes for different courses.
Tho I am doing MBA from school of open learning but the learning experience that I am getting from this college is like a regular one as I am getting daily 2 hours live lecture on teams application under the guidance of allocated lecturer with updated material.
School of open learning provide placement to the students who are not working and want an assistant with the school of open learning. The college is providing internship to those students who are not working this will help them for the forgetting of placement.
The fees of the MBA course is 100000 rupees for 2 years. School of open learning providing books material to the home address it also provide live lecture and regular offline and online lecture in the satyakam bhavan which get uploaded on YouTube channel.
When we get admission in the school of open learning there was orientation programme for the courses only but as it provide online courses so there was no fresher party and farewell party and fest after the completion of the exam.
Hello,
Recently, UGC has approved a proposal to allow students to pursue two degree programmes at the same time. One of the degrees has to be in the regular mode and the other either in open and distance learning or online. However, in case you're asking if you can get in both the Universities in regular mode then it is not possible.
Also, there are a lot of universities who are not yet accepting the dual degree policy. They may accept it from a year or so as it was released this year. So you should get in contact with the college to know more about it.
I hope this helps,
All the best
yes , you get admission in B com in any university or college
