To be eligible for admission to the Polytechnic program at Sharad Institute of Technology, candidates must have completed their SSC (Secondary School Certificate) examination or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
Admission to the Polytechnic program is based on the aggregate marks obtained by candidates in their SSC examination. There is no separate entrance examination conducted for admission.
The admission process is centralised and managed through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).
A merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained by candidates in their SSC examination. This merit list ranks the candidates in order of their performance, and each candidate is assigned a merit number accordingly.
All candidates who have applied through the CAP are assigned a unique merit number according to their position in the merit list. This merit number is a crucial factor in the subsequent steps of the admission process.
After the merit list is prepared and merit numbers are assigned, candidates are given the opportunity to fill in their preferred choices of courses and institutes. The seat allotment is then conducted based on the merit number and the choices filled by the candidates.
Once the seat allotment is done, candidates who have been allotted a seat in Sharad Institute of Technology's Polytechnic programme need to report to the institute within the stipulated time frame.
