Siga College of Education, Villupuram Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

SIGA College of Education in Villupuram is the oldest institution in India offering training for the future teachers. Located in Kappiyampuliyur Village, Vikravandi Taluk, Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu, it runs Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programs that are duly recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college's admission processes are intended to select worthy candidates who are going to be competent and committed teachers. The admission to the college is on merit to meet the Government of Tamil Nadu and its Union Territory Administration and the concerned affiliated university policies. The admission is mainly based on the Merit obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination as per the relevant policy.  Prospective candidates are expected to take note that the academic entry conditions adhere to the policy framed by the State and Union Territory Governments. 

 Admission Process

The admission procedure for SIGA College of Education, Villupuram, for the B.Ed program involves several stages:

1. Eligibility Check: Ensure that you fulfill the basic eligibility criteria for the B.Ed program, which generally encompasses a bachelor's degree from a recognized university.

2. Application Form: Acquire and fill out the application form, which may be available on the college website or at the college admission office.

3. Document Submission: Prepare and submit the necessary documents comprising at least the following:

• Duly completed application form
• Several recent passport-size photographs
• Result statements of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, and bachelor's degree)
• Transfer certificate of the last attended institution

• Community certificate (if applicable)

4. Entrance Examination: Sit for the entrance examination, if mandated by the current admission policy.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed: The Bachelor of Education, or B.Ed, is the basic course offered by the institution. Admission to the B.Ed program is granted on merit based on marks obtained by the different students in the qualifying examination and/or any entrance examination as per the latest policy direction. The approved intake for this program is 100 students. General eligibility criteria consist of a bachelor's degree or the equivalent from a recognized university, with some exceptions for specific subjects. The B.Ed program is designed to make competent teachers qualify on an improved basis to be ready for an education-based vocation.
