I majored in Marketing and took up a few subjects in Finance as my minor that may come handy as a marketer. From consumer behavior to product and channel management and Brand management, and from web and social media analytics to AIML, I had quite an experience throughout. The roster of elective courses is curated as per present and future industry demands. This is clearly visible when we compared the subjects we studied with the subjects offered o the previous batches.
This is the main focal point of most aspirants through their post-MBA journey. I came with about 3 years of industry experience with above average academics throughout. Although my work experience was majorly in finance, i had developed a liking for marketing and this gave me an opportunity to change my domain and move into the marketing side of things. With the guidance of the marketing professors at campus, I built my profile for a marketing role and ended up being placed in a good role.
The answer to this question of whether PGPM is a good investment, is subjective. It depends on what is the value you are looking for. For me, it was majorly about changing my domain and i was able to do that. If value to you means higher monetary compensation, i think it is a very good option, as all of us were placed at at least 1.5X times our compensation prior to doing this course.

Hi Sibika,
The SOIL programmes are rather fresh and extremely industry oriented. In HR, their main thrust areas are not just traditional topics such as Manpower planning, Talent management , Performance Management etc but hands-on experience in newer trends such as Competency mapping, HR Analytics, Transformational IR. These courses have good scope in the coming years.
The placements are also decent and so you can definitely consider it if you are a Fresher.
However you can also opt for other HR courses in TISS, DU, XLRI as they have more presence in the market and are more favored by many recruiters.
Wish you the best!
