Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore Admission Process

Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science (SRCAS), Coimbatore, is a self-financing prestigious college that provides a number of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses. Most of the courses in the college have a merit-based admission procedure so that students who deserve it can join their desired programs.

The admission process of SRCAS generally starts in May-June for the August-September session. Though dates keep changing every year, students are requested to keep an eye on the college website for updates on application deadlines and key dates. The college provides 51 courses under 12 degree programs, meeting a wide variety of interests.

For the under-graduation programs, the minimum eligibility criteria are the pass in 10+2 from a recognized board. The majority of courses need a minimum of 50% aggregate in the qualifying exam. For the postgraduate candidates, they should have passed the bachelor's degree in the concerned stream from a recognized university with a minimum of 55-60% marks or equivalent CGPA.

SRCAS also considers other regular tests for admission. For the case of MBA courses, the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is the regular means of admitting students. For the M.Phil. and Ph.D. applicants, the choice will be made through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Bharathiar University and the candidate's qualifying result, followed by an interview.

Application Process

Application process in Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science differs according to the program:

For Undergraduate Programs:

1. Go to the official SRCAS website and search for the online application form.
2. Fill in the application form with academic and personal information.
3. Upload supporting documents like 10th and 12th mark sheets, passport-size photo, etc.
4. Pay online fees.
5. Submit the filled-in application form.
6. Wait for merit list or for counseling/interview (shortlisted).

For Postgraduate Programs:

1. Verify the particular requirements of the selected program (e.g., TANCET for MBA).
2. Appear and apply for the respective entrance exam (if required).
3. Go to the SRCAS site and complete the online application form.
4. Upload graduation mark sheets, marks in entrance exams, and such other certificates if applicable.
5. Pay application fee.
6. Complete application and then patiently wait for an intimation call from the college.

For Ph.D Programs

1. If exempted from CET, participate in the CET conducted by Bharathiar University.
2. Go to the SRCAS website and complete Ph.D application form.
3. Upload documents like postgraduate degree certificates, research proposal, and CET marks (or exemption certificate).
4. Pay fee (Rs 200 for General category, Rs 50 for SC/ST/PwD categories).
5. Submit application and wait for interview call

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Com: SRCAS provides 11 B.Com specializations, such as Professional Accounting, Computer Application, International Business, and Banking and Insurance. Admission is merit-based, i.e., on the marks secured by the candidate at 10+2.

B.Sc: The college provides 14 B.Sc courses, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Physics. Admission is based on merit on the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying exam.

BCA: The college offers two BCA programmes, one being Google Certification-included. It is an admission on the basis of merit and has a sanctioned intake of 120 seats for the regular programme of BCA.

BBA: The two BBA programmes offered by SRCAS are topped by BBA Computer Application. Merit-based admission policy is followed and there is a sanctioned intake of 240 seats in the regular BBA programme.

M.Sc: There are five M.Sc courses, viz., Computer Science, Information Technology, and Biotechnology. Admission is usually based on the candidate's performance at the undergraduate level and may be followed by an entrance test or interview.

MBA: MBA course considers TANCET scores while admitting candidates. Shortlisted candidates may have to undergo other selection processes.

Ph.D: SRCAS has Ph.D programs in Computer Science, Commerce, Biotechnology, and Management Sciences. Admission through CET conducted by Bharathiar University, along with interview. Students having UGC NET/CSIR-NET/GATE qualification would be exempted from appearing for the CET.

Admission documents required generally are:

  • Passport size photo
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets
  • Degree certificates and mark sheets (for PG and Ph.D candidates)
  • Entrance exam score card (wherever applicable)
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Community Certificate (wherever applicable)

Yes we have necessary things and we have a canteen facility and stationary facility both for boys and girls we have a separate hostel facilities with a safe and security and the best college. This is my suggestion.

Academics

Yes, academics are updated every year and lecturers help you with doubts anytime during college. Some Lecturers here provide practical classes where students are allowed for experimenting . One thing that i would appreciate is they provide placement training from first year of college and various certification that one can add in their resumes
