Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Polytechnic College is one of the oldest engineering colleges situated at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu state which was founded in the year 1956. This affiliated college recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) provides technical education at its well developed 26.67 acres of land. The college offers a comfortable seated capacity for 730 students and faculty strength of 40. There are four diploma coursing in the institute each being related to various fields of engineering to meet the needs of the technicians and engineers.

The college can pride itself on such facilities that are supposed to improve the quality of the studies of their students. The modern equipped library has an impressive number of the printed production which is 10221 titles and 17887 volumes, and the number of seats is 120; It is a perfect place for studying or holding researches. The college should attract sports lovers as it has some of the best facilities of a national-standard lane athletic track and an indoor stadium that can host more than 2000 people. 

The indoor badminton courts play additional sporting amenities in the institute making it even more versatile in sporting facilities it hosts. For those more inclined technology, the college also boasts of an ideal information technology base to keep the student up-to-date with the advancements in their areas of study. Lodging facilities at the boys hostel are comfortable for students from out-station; there is a fellow feeling among the boys who live in hostel.

At present, there are four full time diploma courses offered at the Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Polytechnic College and all the courses take three years to complete. They are Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Diploma in Information Technology and Diploma in Civil Engineering. The college has always offered an intake of 60 per course, thus the 240 seats for each year are available. This way, the number of students in each engineering specialization is evenly distributed, and each of them receives detailed attention to provide quality education in the chosen line.
