Sri Venkateswara Dental College and Hospital, Chennai Admission Process

Sri Venkateswara Dental College and Hospital, Chennai, is a highly ranked private dental college accredited by the Dental Council of India (DCI) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The admission process in Sri Venkateswara Dental College and Hospital is competitive and merit-based, which makes sure that only the most deserving students are admitted into their programs.

The admission cycle of Sri Venkateswara Dental College and Hospital is generally in sync with the national entrance examination schedules. Both these tests are related to subject matter of Biology, Physics, and Chemistry in the case of NEET-UG and diverse fields of dental sciences for NEET MDS.

Application Process

Application process for Sri Venkateswara Dental College and Hospital differs from one program to another:

For BDS Program:

1. Clear NEET-UG exam with the specified percentile.
2. Register in the state counseling process (for Tamil Nadu state quota seats) or for All India Quota counseling.
3. Submit online application form of Sri Venkateswara Dental College and Hospital during the counseling process.
4. Scan and upload every document as referred to above, such as NEET-UG score card, 10+2 mark sheet, and such other certificates if required.
5. Remit the application fee as notified by the counseling body.

For MDS Programs:

1. Pass NEET MDS exam with the given percentile.

Degree wise Admission Process

BDS: Sri Venkateswara Dental College and Hospital offers 100 seats every year in the BDS course. Admission to the BDS course is strictly on the NEET-UG score of the candidate. Admission is done by counseling rounds in which candidates are seated based on rank and the options they filled.

MDS: Sri Venkateswara Dental College and Hospital has four specializations for MDS with 10 seats:

  • MDS Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (3)
  • MDS Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (3)
  • MDS Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge (2)
  • MDS Periodontics (2)

Shortlisting for the admission to the MDS courses is done on the NEET MDS score of the candidate. Shortlisted candidates should hold a BDS degree from a recognized university. Admission generally comes through counseling rounds in which seats are filled according to the rank and preference of the candidate.

The documents to be submitted for admission are generally:

  • NEET-UG/NEET MDS score card
  • Mark sheets of 10th and 12th standard
  • BDS degree certificate and mark sheets (for MDS applicants)
  • Transfer certificate
  • Migration certificate (wherever applicable)
  • Community certificate (for applicants who belong to the reserved class)
  • Internship completion certificate (for MDS applicants)
  • Valid photo ID proof
  • Recent passport-size photos
