Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Mangalore Admission Process

Srinivas College of Pharmacy is one of the leading institutions having a wide range of pharmacy courses. The college was approved by the Pharmacy Council of India focuses on having a systematic selection of applicants for its different programs, adopting methods that would ensure skilled individuals pass through the admission process for undertaking the various courses offered here at SCP for levels such as diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.

The admission cycle of Srinivas College of Pharmacy is usually the academic year. It usually starts in August-September. For postgraduate courses like M.Pharma, the college considers Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test scores, a national-level entrance exam. Thus, students who join the college have a sound foundation in pharmaceutical sciences.

Eligibility criteria differ with each program. For B.Pharma, candidates need to have 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology. M.Pharma applicants normally require a B.Pharma degree from a recognized institution. The eligibility criteria for Pharm.D and Ph.D are different and depend on the respective programs.

Application Process

The application process for Srinivas College of Pharmacy differs with the course:

1. For B.Pharma and D.Pharma courses:

Obtain the application form from the college website or admission office.

Fill up the application form with proper personal and academic details.

Attach all the necessary documents such as 10+2 mark sheets, entrance exam scores (if any), and other required certificates.

Send the application form along with the application fee as specified.

2. For M.Pharma:

- The candidate has to appear for GPAT.

- The candidate needs to apply to SCP using the score of GPAT and other relevant documents.

- The college can conduct further screening processes for final selection.

3. For Pharm.D and Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate:

The eligibility criteria for these courses can be found on the college website.

Attaching application form and relevant academic records, along with other documents specified.

4. For Ph.D programs:

Calling the college for information regarding the application.

Submission of research proposals along with other documents as stated in the application from the college.

Degree wise Admission Process:

B.Pharma: The intake sanctioned for the B.Pharma course at Srinivas College of Pharmacy is 60 students per year. Admission to the course is made based on the performance of the candidate in relevant entrance exams and academic qualifications. The course duration is usually four years.

M.Pharma: SCP delivers the M.Pharma program for its students specializing in Quality Assurance, Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutics. Basically, admissions for M.Pharma will be offered solely on GPAT scores. M.Pharma has a period of two years normally.

Pharm.D: Pharm.D: Pharm.D programme in the institution is available, however, further admission details of Pharm.D in SCP are unknown; however it shall be based upon passing higher secondary from science with core subjects for Pharma.

Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate: This program is available for candidates who have already completed their B.Pharma degree and wish to pursue further specialization.

Ph.D Pharmacy: SCP offers doctoral programs in Pharmacy. Admission to Ph.D programs usually requires a master's degree in the relevant field and may involve additional selection processes.

D.Pharma: The Diploma in Pharmacy course has an intake of 60 students per year. This is a two-year program, which helps a student enter the pharmacy field at a technical level.

Commonly attached documents for the above two types of programs:

  • Application form
  • Recent passport size photographs
  • Marks sheet of qualifying examinations that is, 10th, 12th and Bachelors degree as required 
  • Score card of entrance exam. GPAT is the score card for M. pharm
  • Transfer certificate, migration certificate, caste certificate in case of students belonging to OBC/ SC/ST categories
  • Any other certificate required by the college

Engineering courses:

[Including B.Tech (Agri. Engg.) and B.Tech (Food Technology) courses under the Kerala

Agricultural University, B.Tech (Dairy Technology) and B.Tech (Food Technology) courses under

Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University and B.Tech (Food Technology) course under

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies].

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized

as equivalent thereto, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry as

one of the optional subject with atleast 45% marks put together in the above subjects are

eligible for admission. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in

Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and

Computer Science the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered. In case, the

candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology the marks obtained in

Biology shall be considered. The marks as shown in the mark list of the Board of Examination

obtained from the respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic

eligibility.

Note:-

(i) In two year Kerala Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognised equivalent thereto

with two year course where the Board Examinations are conducted in both years, the total

marks of two years in the respective subjects as shown in the mark lists of the respective Higher

Secondary Boards will be considered for academic eligibility.

(ii) In Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognised equivalent thereto where Board

Examinations are conducted only at the end of 12th class (final year), the marks in the

respective subjects as shown in the mark lists of the respective Higher Secondary Boards will be

considered for academic eligibility.

(iii) For all other type of Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognised equivalent thereto,

the marks of the respective subjects as shown in the mark list of the respective Board of

Examinations will be considered for academic eligibility.

(iv) The Vocational Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, has been recognised as equivalent to the

Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala.

(v) In the case of nominees of Government of India and nominees of reciprocal quota seats who are

selected on the basis of the marks in the qualifying examination, the academic eligibility as

specified in clause 6.2.2 is applicable.

6.2.3 Architecture course:

(a) Candidates who have passed 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in

Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and also at least 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level

examination or passed 10+3 Diploma examinations with Mathematics as compulsory subject with

at least 50 % marks in aggregate are eligible for Architecture course.

(b) In addition to the academic eligibility prescribed under clause 6.2.3 (a), only those candidates

who score the minimum eligibility marks as per the Information Brochure of National Aptitude

Test in Architecture (NATA) 2020 will be considered for admission to B. Arch. course. There is no

relaxation in the minimum passing score of NATA to any category of candidate as per letter No.

CA/5/Academic-NATA dated 11.03.2008. The candidates are advised to qualify in NATA on or

before 01.06. 2020.

(c) There is no provision for lateral admission to the second year or at any stage during the 5 year

course in Architecture.

6.2.4 B.Pharm course:

Candidate who have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary

Education, Kerala or Examinations equivalent there to with English as one of the subjects and

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects individually.

In the case of B.Pharm Course, candidates belonging to SC/ST, a minimum pass mark is

required.
