St Joseph's College of Engineering, Chennai has a boys hostel on the campus. Two hostel blocks are provided primarily for the boys. The boys' hostel has 342 rooms spread out over three floors that can accommodate about 1368 students. Various facilities like water heaters,  a laundromat facility, newspapers are provided to each individual room and there is an intercom facility to all rooms through which parents can directly get connected to their ward’s room. For UG first-year students, there is a separate hostel block in the boys’ hostel.

The institute has a separate hostel for girls. Two blocks are reserved exclusively for females. The girls’ hostel has 250 rooms spread over three floors and accommodates about 1000 girl students. Each room has various amenities such as water heaters, a laundromat, and newspapers, and all rooms have an intercom system that allows parents to communicate directly with their ward's rooms. In the girls' hostel, there is a separate hostel block for UG first-year students.

A full-time medical officer has been assigned to take care of sick students. A medical centre with ten beds is available to provide first aid and prompt medical care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A full-time medical officer, a staff nurse, and an attendee visit the campus on regular basis. Suturing facilities are available in this centre for minor surgical procedures. The medical centre also buys quality medicines periodically.

St Joseph's College of Engineering, Chennai has a well-maintained gymnasium for students on the campus. The gymnasium has various weight training equipment.

St Joseph's College of Engineering, Chennai has a well-equipped library that contains a large collection of books, references, textbooks, encyclopedia, national journals, e-journals etc. The Central library is equipped with Computer Compact Discs and NPTEL video courses. Students and faculty members can search for the books, authors, titles or subject headings with the availability of AUTOLIB software. The institute has subscribed to MALIBNET (Madras Library Networks) and DELNET (Developing Library Networks), which allow students to access libraries throughout Chennai city and India.

The institute has a well-maintained and big sports ground with a total area of 30 acres. It also has several indoor and outdoor sports equipment for students on the campus. Students participate in various inter-university, intra-university and other sports tournaments that are held on the campus.  Sports students are provided with free hostel accommodations. Sportswear and equipment are provided to all sports students in St Joseph's College of Engineering, Chennai.

The institute has a well-equipped IT infrastructure on the campus premises. The Optical Fiber Network connects the entire college campus, including the hostels. This optical fibre network connects 500 nodes in a ring topology to ensure consistent connectivity. Students and staff members use this internet facility extensively for research, curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities.

St Joseph's College of Engineering, Chennai has a spacious mess including a dining hall, kitchen, ice cream parlour, bakery and other facilities. In the mess, hygienic and healthy meals are given to students. Boys and girls, as well as vegetarians and non-vegetarians, have separate seating arrangements. Every day, ice cream and sweets are served to all of the students. In front of the classroom blocks, breakfast and tea are served. Tea and snacks are served to students who attend special classes after regular classes in the evening. Breakfast, lunch, and evening snacks are provided free of charge to all visitors to the college, teaching and non-teaching staff.

The institute has an indoor auditorium equipped with a fully inbuilt sound system and lighting. All major college events, such as convocation and college day, are held in the auditorium. On normal days, students can use it to play indoor games such as badminton and table tennis.

St Joseph's College of Engineering, Chennai has a fleet of 75 buses for the transportation of day-school students and faculty members. The buses are making their way through Chennai city, Thiruvallur District, and Kancheepuram district. Private vehicles and two-wheelers are prohibited, primarily to avoid accidents and late arrivals at college. Free transportation is available for all teaching and non-teaching staff of the institute.

The Alumni association of our college has completed 10 years of active functioning. Every year, alumni meetings are organized to interact with the students which create an opportunity for the alumni to exchange their views about the developments in the competitive world. Already ten annual meetings have been conducted which were attended by a good number of alumni.A website is created exclusively for the alumni of St.Josephs College of Engineering. Our old students enroll in the alumni association through online.We are proud to say that a good strength of our passed out students are in U.S., U.K., Germany, Australia, Canada,Singapore etc. All the email I.Ds of our alumni are available with our alumni association. present students are interacting with them to get career guidance.Whenever the members of alumni visit the college, they are allowed to interact with the students to share their experiences in higher studies and employment opportunities.

The institute has an Indian Bank extension counter on the campus. All students in the hostels must have a bank account. This facilitates the financial transactions for students and staff. There are two ATMs on campus which is open 24 hours a day.

St Joseph's College of Engineering has well-equipped classrooms, tutorial rooms and smart classrooms equipped with LCD projectors, Wi-Fi/ LAN.

The institute has two grocery stores (one for boys and one for girls) that sell a variety of snacks as well as the most common stationery items and medicines. The primary purpose of these stores is to serve the needs of students. There is no need for students to purchase anything outside of campus.

St Joseph's College of Engineering has departmental based laboratories equipped with machinery and measuring instruments. This not only meets the students' course requirements but also exposes them to industry practices.
