No, a B.Sc. (3-year) student is not directly eligible for M.Tech through GATE. Most M.Tech programs require a B.Tech/B.E. degree or an M.Sc. (for science-related fields) .
However, some IITs and IISc offer M.Tech or interdisciplinary courses for B.Sc. (3-year) students through their M.Tech (Research) or MSc-PhD programs , but eligibility varies.
A better route is to
pursue an M.Sc.
first and then apply for M.Tech via GATE. You can check individual IITs’ eligibility criteria for exceptions.
