SVS College of Engineering, Coimbatore Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The SVS Boys Hostel is situated on the main campus of SVS Educational Institutions. There are about 180 rooms, which can accommodate 700 student(s). All the rooms are well furnished with modern amenities such as a wooden cot, mattress with pillows, bed-spreads, individual cupboards, chair-table with lamp, and wall hangers. Each room is provided with a bath, toilet facilities, and a wash basin.

The SVS Girls Hostel is situated well within the main campus of SVS Educational Institutions. There are about 100 rooms, which can accommodate 400 girl students. All the rooms are well furnished with modern amenities such as a wooden cot, mattress with pillows, bed-spreads, individual cupboards, chair-table with a lamp for study purposes, and wall hangers. Each room is provided with bath and toilet facilities, a washbasin, and a mirror.

A well-equipped health center and first aid rooms are available on the campus. The doctor is visiting twice a week. In case of an emergency, an ambulance is readily available 24 hours a day.

A well-equipped 6-multi station gymnasium is available within the campus to promote the physical well-being of the student community. Separate timings are allotted for boys and girls.

The Central Library was built area of 5,500 Sq.ft., on the second floor of the Sri Velammal building in the year 2009 to cardinal support services of the Institute with the prime objective in providing the right information to the right readers at the right time in the right manner by bibliographic sources and full-text sources in the form of print as well as digital from the multi-discipline on Science, Engineering, Technology, Humanities, Management, general and etc., are kept in separated places such as Stack Section, Reference Section, and Periodical Section to support the scholarly and informational needs of the Institute Community. The Central Library is now fully computerized with more than 27000 books and 60 Peer-Reviewed Periodicals with help of modern lab software.

SVS Educational Institutions have created necessary sports and games facilities for the students to strengthen physical education. Since sports and games play an integral part in molding and refining the character of an individual. The students are encouraged to take part in all the major indoor and outdoor games. the college has the excellent infrastructure required for the development of sports skills in students such as volleyball court, Handball Court, table tennis room, carrom room, chess room, ball badminton court, football field, cricket ground, cricket nets for practice. To enhance the athletic talents of students, they have 200 meters. standard track with 6 lanes.

The Institution offers highly updated computing facilities such as a CAD lab, Micro Processor lab, Simulation lab, Computing lab, etc. The institution has over 1000 personal Computers with various operating systems. Each department has a separate Computer Center.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students. SVS has the facility of a spacious and hygienic cafeteria that caters to the taste of all students. It can conveniently accommodate 150 students at a time. The cafeteria is provided with modern furniture, electrical cooking, and storing facilities that provide delicious breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages both for students and staff at reasonable rates. Separate space is available for students and staff. It is well maintained with effective service. It remains open on all working days from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.

A well-furnished and centralized AC auditorium with a capacity of 2500 is available on the campus to conduct international-level events. The auditorium has various facilities such as world-class acoustic arrangements, projector facilities for AVs, a green room, and a restroom for boys and girls.

The college has a transport facility for students and staff. The College provides its own transportation for students and staff residing outside the campus. The Institute has 16 buses for the benefit of the day scholar students and the staff. The transport facility is available from various places in Coimbatore, Pollachi, Udumalpet, Tirupur, and Palakkad to the institute on all working days. The bus facilities are being utilized for local visits and educational trips.

This portal is one of the biggest assets of SVSCE and also helps the college and the alumni to get in touch with each other. This SVSCE alumni association was envisioned and formed as a lifetime platform for the welfare of the SVSCE family. This platform not only facilitates effective and faster communication but also provides an opportunity to better learn. Help & encouragement are the two prime values of this SVSCE alumni association. This serves as a link between management and the alumni also seeks to unite all the former students of the college through a common society.

The Internet center is well equipped and provides students with a high-speed broadband Wi-Fi connection.

The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students.

A Cooperative store is functioning at the campus. All stationery items including notebooks, record notes, textbooks, and uniforms, etc., are available to the students and faculty members.

The SVS Educational Institutions provide round-the-clock ATMs (Lakshmi Vilas Bank and Indian Overseas Bank) facilities both for the students and staff members. They can do withdraw the money at any point in time without hassles. The public also can use the ATMs at any time.

Near the entrance of the college, a spacious parking lot is available for the students to park their two-wheelers and four-wheelers. For staff members, a separate parking area is an available adjacent to the student parking area.
