Swami Vivekananda Nursing College in Dharmapuri is a very well-known nursing college that has multiple nursing courses. The application process for Swami Vivekananda College of Nursing, Dharmapuri, is as follows:

3. Submission of Documents: Apart from the filled-in application form, applicants must provide the following documents:

  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets

Degree wise Admission Process

Swami Vivekananda College of Nursing imparts various nursing courses at various levels. The following is a bifurcation of the admission procedure for each degree:

B.Sc Nursing: It is a four-year undergraduate course with an intake of 40 candidates. Admission is done on the basis of merit in the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. Candidates must have obtained at least a 45% aggregate of marks in these subjects.

GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery): 40 seats are offered under this course by the college. Admission is generally on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the 10+2 examination, with a preference for the science background holders.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: It is a two-year course with 30 students' intake. It is for registered nurses who have passed their GNM course. It is on the basis of candidate's performance in their GNM course and work experience.

M.Sc Nursing: The college provides postgraduate specializations in nursing fields, each having a course duration of two years:

  • M.Sc Community Health Nursing (8 seats)
  • M.Sc Paediatric Nursing (5 positions)
  • M.Sc Medical Surgical Nursing (4 positions)
  • M.Sc Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing (4 positions)
  • M.Sc Psychiatric Nursing (4 positions)

For M.Sc courses, the candidates should have passed the B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks. Admission is generally on the basis of performance in the candidate in the qualifying examination and an entrance test held by the college or the concerned university.
