Degree wise Admission Process

MBBS: There are 150 seats in the college for MBBS course. Admission will be on the basis of NEET-UG merit of the candidate and the state authorities will hold the counseling. The candidate is selected based purely on merit by considering the candidate's marks secured in NEET-UG and the prearranged science group subjects of the qualifying examination normalized to 200 marks.

MD/MS: Thoothukudi Government Medical College provides several postgraduation courses such as MD General Medicine, MS General Surgery, MD Anaesthesiology, MD Paediatrics, MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MD Emergency Medicine, MS Orthopaedics, MS ENT, and MD Forensic Medicine. The admissions to these programs are done by NEET-PG, and then counseling is done. Seats are different for each speciality, and the seat varies from 2 to 10.

DM: The college provides super-specialty courses in Gastroenterology and Neurology. Admissions are done on the basis of the NEET-SS exam. The intake is restricted, with 2 seats for DM Neurology and 1 seat for DM Gastroenterology.
