hello abhijeet,
The UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY,HOSHIARPUR is an average college for engineering courses with the average rating of 3.9 out of 5.
the mechanical engineering department in this college is average with rating of 3.5 and the placements in mechanical department is average, nearly 60% of the students get placed from the college every year with a package ranging from 4-6 lacs per annum.
the mechanical dept is average in this college.
hope this may help you.
The choice depends on the simple factor that whether yu prefer mechanical or plastic and polymer. If you are interested in automobiles then you should go for UIET other =wise if you are interested in chemistry you should go for BITS Mesra. You should choose according to your interest in the field. Also if you want to choose on the basis of college then do so. Hope this helps.
Hey,
Placement in this college is not good at all. Frankly speaking, the placements and job opportunities, especially for mechanical engineering students is near to zero. Mechanical stream might have taught the basics of programming and language which could have got them hired. Those already with a basic understanding of programming and language from mechanical engineering were hired. Apart from mechanical engineers, the engineers of Computer Science, Information and Technology, Electrical, Electronics, and even Biotechnology has more placement ratio. Eighty percent of CSE and IT engineers are placed from UIET in organizations like ZS, Deloitte, Infosys, Wipro, Standard Chartered Bank, Zycus, MuSigma, Jaro education, KPMG, Juganoo, etc. The maximum package was offered by Juganoo was 12lac and the minimum package of 3.6lac among renowned organization was offered by Infosys. Most of the UIET engineers this year were placed in Infosys, Deloitte and ZS associates.
Hope this helps,
Good luck!
Well, to be honest best for your future is IT. Nowadays there is craz for IT students for tech companies are growing. Well, if you can afford outside India, then go for chemical and plastic engineering because in outside there are lot of chances for these streams. So hope you understand and best of luck to you.

CCET would be a better choice than UIET, Hoshiarpur, in all the branches, not just mechanical.
Advantages CCET has over UIET, Hoshiarpur:
Between jamia and usict , both are equally good. Jamia has better reputation nationally .
For CSE /it/ECE usict maybe better but for core branches jamia is better because of experienced faculty.
New iiits are improving vastly , so they might become much better by the time you pass out . So you can opt for them too.
In CSE average package in jamia is around 3-4 lakhs whereas in iiit Bhubaneswar and others it's quite high. Also you will get tag of a iiitian
Otherwise both are equally good .
It left much to be desired as machines were old. The machines were around twenty years older when I was studying, many weren't even working. It troubled us a lot as many of us weren't able to do our experiments.
Infra of our college is okaish. Everything one may need is present in the college or univerisity campus. Lecture halls are good only for the CS and IT department. All the facilities are present in the university campus in sector 14, but hostels aren't that great and availability of hostels is a major issue for boys. More than half of the students have to live outside of the campus in pgs and apartments.
Yes what i feel now that college have all necessary infrastructure, earlier their was shortage of tuckshop but now that too has been installed. Now coming to the clasroom, we have smart boards and Wifi but not AC, and yes library is well maintained. As per our need their are enough equimpments in labs and workshops And yes their is shortage of hostels for students. Hostels are allotted on merit basis. And for food and places, hygiene is averagely maintained.
