Placements

Only Computer Science streams receive any placement. The IT stream receives good placements as well, but Electronics and communication, the placement is just average and as for other streams, it's downright rubbish.

Placements

Compared to other state govt and private colleges, placements are better, but not good though. In CS/IT more than 70 percent students get placed, in ECE around 50 percent. In biotech only 5-6 students get placed. But most of the students in biotech department go to peruse higher studies, so there is less competition for placements. Median is 6-8 lpa and average is around 9 lpa. Highest 18lpa by American Express to 7 students.

Placements

Quality of placement is good, like in starting of your college you can set some of your expectation and prepare for that company. 80 to 85 percent of students are placed and nit very sure about on campus but off campus highest placement package was around 50 lacs per annum and on campus was around 24 lac per annum ( not very sure) and the package was for IT and CSE. AVerage salary is around 6 to 8 lacs and yes college was supportive .

i got 22183 rank in jee main and belong to sc category can I get seat in Uiet Chandigarh in computer science.

University Institute of Engineering and Technology,Punjab is considered as a tier-1 institute by NIRF. Admissions here are done on the basis of Jee Mains rank and JAC Chandigarh Counselling.

Based upon you rank,you can certainly get computer science in UIET as the closing rank for this stream for SC last year was 122050. Note the cutoff may vary for this year but you still have a fairly good chance of being admitted into this institute.
