It left much to be desired as machines were old. The machines were around twenty years older when I was studying, many weren't even working. It troubled us a lot as many of us weren't able to do our experiments.
The courses are 20 years old with no update based on how the technology has transformed over the years. The way of teaching is very old and it feels obsolete as students learn more from youtube videos than in college.
Only Computer Science streams receive any placement. The IT stream receives good placements as well, but Electronics and communication, the placement is just average and as for other streams, it's downright rubbish.
The money is quite good.
It was pretty good with an amazing campus life.
If the course and infrastructure improves, it would be great college.
Infra of our college is okaish. Everything one may need is present in the college or univerisity campus. Lecture halls are good only for the CS and IT department. All the facilities are present in the university campus in sector 14, but hostels aren't that great and availability of hostels is a major issue for boys. More than half of the students have to live outside of the campus in pgs and apartments.
In the biotech department, only few of the faculty members are exceptionally good. And they will certainly push you and develop your research skills. But it is true only for the select few of the faculty members.
Compared to other state govt and private colleges, placements are better, but not good though. In CS/IT more than 70 percent students get placed, in ECE around 50 percent. In biotech only 5-6 students get placed. But most of the students in biotech department go to peruse higher studies, so there is less competition for placements. Median is 6-8 lpa and average is around 9 lpa. Highest 18lpa by American Express to 7 students.
Fee structure changes with 5% hike per year. As of now it is 1.10 Lakhs/year. Hostels are 6k per semester and 46 rupee per meal for mess.
the college is conveniently located in the city of chandigarh, making it easily accessible. The University campus where the hostels and central library are located, there environment is lively, providing students with various activities and competitions both national and international level. Overall campus life is engaging and enjoyable.
Yes what i feel now that college have all necessary infrastructure, earlier their was shortage of tuckshop but now that too has been installed. Now coming to the clasroom, we have smart boards and Wifi but not AC, and yes library is well maintained. As per our need their are enough equimpments in labs and workshops And yes their is shortage of hostels for students. Hostels are allotted on merit basis. And for food and places, hygiene is averagely maintained.
I have studied BE mechanical and college have various machinaries to showcase practicals and quality of teaching is also good. YEs, i feel curticulum is mostly updated and study make you 80 percent ready for job for rest 20 percent you need to involve yourself in extra co curricular activities.
Quality of placement is good, like in starting of your college you can set some of your expectation and prepare for that company. 80 to 85 percent of students are placed and nit very sure about on campus but off campus highest placement package was around 50 lacs per annum and on campus was around 24 lac per annum ( not very sure) and the package was for IT and CSE. AVerage salary is around 6 to 8 lacs and yes college was supportive .
Course charge around 90k to 1 lac per year and yes for engineering money is worth.
Campus life is good and chill. Its best part is its fun activities organised by different clubs and socities and Goonj ( UIET Fest ). Worst part is like any outsider can enter the premises. Students are involved in student politics and students elections. Yes their is fair bind between students and teachers. And yes location is like its center of chandigarh everything is close and yes its safe too and ues their is facilities for handling emergency.
UIET is situated in the south campus of Panjab University so obviously its infrastructure is normal. But the infrastructure of North campus of PU is great. Many facilities like PU market ,Banks, Dispensary, a very good Library all are basically present in the north campus. But overall UIET's infrastructure is also good.
According to me, academics of my branch (CSE) is quite good, All my professors have PHD degree and are quite good in teaching the basic concepts. But at the end of the day,we have to learn new things by ourselves only with help of youtube or books.
Placements for CSE branch are quite good if you prepare for placements earlier.Recently, placements have been low everywhere in the country due to recession and same case is with my college.Still there are good opportunities for the CSE branch students to grab a good placement.
Good infrastructure and facilities, had no issues in the 4 years of my graduation. Everything we needed for the projects were easily available within the city and the teachers were always there to help us do all the necessary things we want for our projects. Hostels were also very close to our college so it was quite a good experience to have college and hostels so close.
The faculties always supported in every field you are interested in be it sports or academics. The quality of max subjects is good and it surely helps us to create practical projects that might help the society in the future. And good level of seminars were also conducted by the university so as to keep in touch with what is need in the current society.
Decent college placements. Happy with the opportunities the college gave us. Many companies came to the college in the last 6 months of our college and gave us decent salary. Had a very good interaction with the students and the teachers that took the interviews. They were all very professional and polite so overall had a great experience.
good
Best experience till date
College infrastructure was good there are three Blocks 1,2, 3 having good vibe all together. Classrooms are good not all have the AC. Some of things on the canteen side can be improved to have more varieties over there for food.
Teachers are experienced and having decent knowledge about subject and other things specially in computer science they are more focused on make the folks understand about the subject but college syllabus is bit outdated and things can be improved on that side.
Overall placement is good like average around 5-6LPA Some good COMPANIES like Amazon, Goldman also visit to the campus but competition is high so selection bars are bit higher but if one prepares better it would be high chances of getting selected on average/ good packages.
It costed my around 5 LpA Over four years only for academics fees.. Yes I think it was good over-all but return on investment also depends how much we have put the efforts so overall it's good
Panjab University is known for its college campus life like student centre, NFS ka parantha etc. So it's a very awesome experience wrt to college campus. In south campus things are new so it's not that much developed but north campus is very awesome.
None as of now.
Infrastructure is quite satisfactory...hostels are good. Since the main PU campus is connected to the college campus. Almost everything is accessible at very short distances. The AC Joshi library is beyond comparison...for an academically oriented student...just about everything is available very conveniently. Also wifi is dope
Well, most of my batchmates did buy courses from udemy and other online platforms....b/c it is required in IT especially. One has to learn to code by themselves....few teachers are pretty good...but rest are just there for a good cup of tea.
On campus placements are okayish....but many individuals have had amazing packages b/c of their hardwork n striving...and have been placed at top companies like Google and Amazon. From the 2022 passout batch ....12 people from CS n IT bagged packages of 34lpa. But some of them had applied off campus for it
The tuition fees was about 4.2 Lakh approx. That amounts to about 1.05 lakh per year. 2years of my college being online due to the virus..I felt it was pretty bad b/c half of my time was spent home attending online stuff..but still they continued to charge the same way....even though the expenditure from the management side reduces dramatically b/c of online semesters.
Being connected to the main PU campus, places to roam around are huge. And Chandigarh being the clean-green city that it is...provides for many sweet spots. There are students from quite a number of different states....Punjab, Haryana, UP, Madhya Pradesh and even West Bengal. So it's a pretty crazy cultural ethos. A few teachers are quite approachable and helpful....some okay . and others better to stay away from. Rest is good if you do the assignments on time and attend classes regularly.
If I compare infrastructure with the rest of the government engineering colleges, then the infrastructure is average. If we compare it with private colleges, then the level of infrastructure is nowhere near them.
If you get into B.E. Computer Science and Engineering or B.E. Information Technology, then you get good faculty and academic help. But if you get into any other engineering job, forget about getting a good job or forget about even a good life!
The average placement package for B.E Computer Science and Engineering and B.E. Information Technology is 6 lakhs whereas it is around 4 lakhs for B.E Electronics and Communication Engineering and B.E Electrical Engineering. The placements in other branches are not so good.
Fee is approx. 1 lakh per annum, making it one of the cheapest engineering colleges in India.
PU is good and so is its campus life. Campus life is the only thing that gets you going through the hectic 4 years.
If you get into CSE or IT, then its good. But beware before getting into other branches.
Infrastructure is decent. The classrooms are neat but no AC in most classes . Food quality is good and prices are reasonable . You will find a huge playground where you can sit , eat, food ,play but no specialist sports grounds except for basketball. The mechanical equipment are old and outdated , few concepts they might help to understand ;however not more than that. Only few classrooms have projectors , and only specific work; Rest you will find a blackboard.
Teaching is decent , condition you come to class regularly. If you read the topics cover daily then you good scores are standard . However this is ideal case and most college students prepare during exams . You will find 6 subjects in mechanical in each semester which i find quite unnecessary. Many topics are outdated and reference books are all 20 years old . We are taught software required for mechanical , but stressed upon . This results in poor placements and having gate as only option.
Mechanical placement are quite less throughout Indian colleges and uiet is no exception. You can either get an PSU , DRDO, Isro through GATE or job opportunities are quite less. You can get into software where jobs are reasonably sufficient. If you go by highest placements then , you fooling yourself. Yet big names come like Microsoft , amazon giving 40 lk +. But that always few geniuses. Average placement in mechanical is low and other branches have better but not full for most(exception CSE).
average fees is 80k-1lk per year , which is almost a third or forth of some private colleges. If you get a 5 lakh + salary you can recover cost in a year or two. However considering low placements you can opt for Cse in Chitkara or CU. If you passionate about mechanical and have ability to risk job security then this field has lot potential for indian economy . If you cant find job , you might create one. So if you want to start business then , this college can save you some bucks.
Campus life is not about campus but the life in it i.e. the students. The more good friends you make the more you enjoy. You can have food together , play some gully cricket and sit and talk about life .You meet people from different backgrounds, and its all fun.
If you want to prepare for Gate , then its fine to admit. Otherwise you have ambitions don't . IT has specialized government funded labs where you can do projects and stuff , but the crowd its not that nice . Most wants a job security and that's not how nation grows.
Good, well maintained and time to time repair ing if anything gets out of use,in terms of infrastructure it is very good and there are lot of branches you can take admission in any of the courses, well equipped
Wonderful performance, well educated teachers and supportive staff, all teachers are qualified and keep motivating students to study and good exposure of labs and teachers also help in performing experiments
Good 7-8 lakh placement usually ,in computer science, electronic and communication are highly paid branches bit there is a great scope in other branches as well like mechanical engineering and civil engineering highly suggestable college if you want placement
As it is a government aided college fees are not very high but comparatively education they provide is high
Amazing, explore of everything is available, lot of people are there
Well maintained and highly suggestable to take admission over here
