Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda College, Thaikkattussery, stands to be one of the best institutes for Ayurvedic education in India. The college is situated in Thrissur, Kerala and offers programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Ayurvedic medicine. The admission procedure followed by the Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda College is wholly merit-based and abides by the general conventions as by the Government of Kerala and national-level entrance examinations. These are accepting NEET UG for admission to undergraduate programs. NEET UG is a prerequisite exam for all those who aspire to be BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) students. The admission for the MD Ayurveda Vachaspati and MD Kayachikitsa postgraduate courses is based on the AIAPGET exam. Degree wise Admission Process
BAMS: The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery degree of Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda College has an annual intake of 75 seats. Admission is based on NEET UG examination scores followed by Common Entrance Examinations conducted by the Government of Kerala. A candidate should have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects.
MD Ayurveda Vachaspati: This postgraduate degree has an intake capacity of 5 seats every year and is one of the specialties. AIAPGET is the qualifying examination while the final admission is determined from the Kerala Government-conducted Common Entrance Examination. The eligibility criteria include the completion of the BAMS degree program at a recognized institute.
MD Kayachikitsa: There are 5 seats available for this postgraduate degree. The admission is done on an AIAPGET basis. BAMS graduates can apply for this specialization practicing internal medicine in Ayurveda.
