UPES B.Tech Admissions 2025
ApplyRanked #42 among Engineering colleges in India by NIRF | Highest CTC 50 LPA , 100% Placements
Hi sir,
You better have mentioned the fee category she got at VIT. With the mentioned rank in SRMJEE, getting top branches such as CSE, IT at KTR that is the main campus of SRM institute of sciences and technology would not be possible. She will be getting other branches, through a counselling process where choice filling for the preferences is done. I would personally suggest to stick with Vellore institute of technology, Chennai as it edges over SRM in several aspects. VIT provides better infrastructure, faculties, job opportunities and has excellent placement records.
The average package for engineering at SRM is around 4.5-5 lacs while it is around 7 lacs for VIT. Vellore institute of technology has been ranked 15th by NIRF in engineering rankings which is way higher than 43rd of SRM.
Personal note- You should turn towards SRM if your daughter has got a seat in fourth or fifth category as then you will get better return of investments.
Hope it helps!!
Greetings of the day dear aspirant,
Comparing two different colleges having almost the same growth is a bit difficult. So, as far as I know, that the infrastructure and campus of SRM are far better than that of VIT CHENNAI and accommodation is better for SRM because it is there in the main city. The VIT is new so the building and classrooms are better.
But the main concern is related to academics and placements so, VIT CHENNAI is better in terms of academics, class timings and placements.
At last, it depends upon you. So, choose well.
Feel free to ask any query.
Thank you and all the best:)
Hello aspirant
I hope you are doing good. With reference to your query, I would like to aware you that if talk about faculities ,they are well qualified in both the campuses and teaching quality is also same. Difference their are more studious and deidcated crowd in VIT vellore. At the time of placements also ,students of chennai campus goes to vellore campus for placement because more companies visit there rest all things are same
If you have any other doubt then you can always reach us to clear them :)
we are always available to help you out and guide you
Thankyou
Hi aspirant,
Heartly congratulations for your success in VITEEE. Electrical and computer engineering at the institution just like any other courses will give you lot of opportunities to learn and explore via updated curriculums and workshops which are held regularly. Most of the faculties have indepth knowledge of their subjects and are highly qualified. You don't have to worry about placements from the time you take admission as more than 600 companies visit the college and students are allowed to sit in joint placements at the main campus.
Moreover the return of investments are good for first category as the fee is quite reasonable with high class infrastructure and facilities.
Hope it helps!!
Hi aspirant,
I think electrical and electronics engineering at Vellore institute of technology in Chennai campus under category 1 is totally worth it. If you have a good preparation and sure of getting a seat at top NIT's or IIT then you can let it go. The fee for category 1 is quite reasonable adding to it brilliant placements with high packages make VIT a good choice.
Note- You need to score 95 percentile and above to get EEE at the top colleges accepting Jee score.
Hope it helps!!
Hello Aspirant
I hope you are doing good . With reference to your query, I would glad to tell you that for cse vit chennai campus would be a much better option than srm ktr campus. Except for mess which is little average ,everything is great in vit chennai campus. VIT chennai has very very well organized bulidings and highly secure for students with very dedicated coding culltute due to large number of technical fest held every year. Even teachers are mosltly from south who are very intelligent. Placement scenario is same in almost all companies
Hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck for your future

Good luck
Why not? See don't go for any kind of cliche. Once upon a time there was literally 1% student in science was girl. And now see girls are doing great. So for a girl there are no such deviations in good or bad and no discrimination can be done on gender. If a field is good for a boy then it is also good for a girl provide he/she is interested in the subject.
Now, VIT Chennai is one of the best private institutions in India with a very good placement, faculty and infrastructure. So if you have interest in Mechanical then you can obviously go for it and it will be great for you. CSE is not the only career choice. Mechanical engineering can also take you to higher level of gratitude. So don't feel any inferior about the field. If you see the recruitments of ISRO then you will get to know the major number of vacancies every year are for mechanical engineering. Also Mechanical Engineering is a ever green field. So if you are affectionate about the course, if you have genuine interest in it then don't bother about cliches and just pursue it.

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
The infrastructure at VIT Chennai is exceptional, surpassing even that of many IITs and other private institutions. The air-conditioned hostels provide comfort, and the quality of food in the mess is commendable.
It has pretty decent infrastructure. We have all the necessity amenities nearby, hence the infrastructure complements the busy student life of engineering. We have Domino's in the campus, also we have in campus gym and salon.
The college's infrastructure is pretty good. Good, well maintained labs and classrooms. Hostels could use for both rooms and wifi availability and better cleaned toilets. The academic blocks are well situated and clean.
