It is not possible to tell whether you will get admission at VIT Chennai in computer science and engineering program, as the admission is totally based on the closing rank which is set by institute itself, and which is depends on various unavoidable factors like:

1- Difficulty level of examination

2- Number of students appear in exam

3- Number of seats available

4- Category of an Individual and many more

However we can get a rough idea by analyzing previous year trends of closing rank at VIT Chennai.

According to some previous year data, the closing rank for Computer science and Engineering in VIT Chennai is around 14000 to 20000.

With around 21000 rank you my have some chances for getting a seat in CSE at VIT Chennai in Category 3 or Category 4.

Chances of getting admission for above rank to cse or ece in first category is very low. For getting first category you need to come under rank 20k. You will get admission for second category. But chances for getting admission in cse and ece for second category is also low. You will get admission in Chennai campus for third category for cse and ece. This is based on previous year trends. As per the recent cutoff trends, you will also be able to get the Mechanical, ECE and also EEE branches as well. But CSE is not that much possible for you to get.  However, the cutoffs vary from one year to another. So, don't loose hope, wait until the end of the counselling.

Both the colleges are really good. They have really good teachers, but according to NIRF rankings VIT stands at a taller position as compared to SRM Chennai.

The teachers at VIT are more qualified as compared to SRM, VIT also offers a better AI & ML work stream as compared to SRM.

As CSE is a top branch , it is obligatory for vit members to have the best of the teaching staff. Definitely, as during placements students of all campus come to vellore campus.

The Placements in VIT Chennai for B.tech in CSE or B.tech in IT is top notch. More than 85% students get to place in top companies in VIT Chennai. So, you can go for VIT Chennai for CSE or IT. However, getting this branch in category 3 will cost you more fees than usual, but still it is worth a college for CSE and IT branch.

In order to get CSE at VIT Chennai Campus, for general category student, you have to score a rank of around 12000 in VITEEE exam in category 1. With 33k rank in VITEEE, it is difficult to get CSE in category 1. However, you can get CSE branch in VIT Chennai by paying more fees and getting higher rank and getting in lower category, like category 5. By paying extra fees, you can get CSE branch in VIT Chennai.

With your rank of 23,804, there are chances that you can get CSE with AI & ML in VIT Chennai in 4th or 5th category based upon past stats.

Though it changes every year because it depends upon the number of candidates and the difficulty of the paper. So keep checking your counselling status.

Also, keep a backup course with you ready, you are eligible for ECE, EEE, CIVIL and MECHANICAL.

VIT has released the results . Candidates who haven't checked your scorecard can check it by visiting the official website. They can log into their account with valid credentials and download their score card. The slot booking for the counselling has started .

The rank which you obtained is difficult to get in category 1 in VIT Chennai but if you go beyond that till category 3 atleast then you would have fair chances to get that branch. However the allotment of branch depends on the number of vacant seats in that branch, number of applicants in the counselling session.
