Vidarbha Youth Welfare Society's Dental College, Tapowan Admission Process

Vidarbha Youth Welfare Society's Dental College, Tapowan (VYWSDCT) is a leading dental college situated in Amravati, Maharashtra. It   is affiliated to the Dental Council of India. The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in dentistry. VYWSDCT is a merit-based institution, so only the most qualified candidates are selected for its programs.

The admission cycle for VYWSDCT usually coincides with the national-level entrance examinations conducted for dental programs. For undergraduate admissions, the college considers the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) scores, while for postgraduate admissions, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS (NEET MDS) scores are taken into account.

The eligibility criteria for the BDS course include passing the 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects. For BDS course

1. Candidate must appear for the NEET examination.

2. Must qualify NEET with a score above the cutoff set by the authority.

3. Should apply for state-level counseling process because VYWSDCT is a private college in Maharashtra

4. In counseling process, choose VYWSDCT as preferred college.

5. After allotment of seat, visit the college for document verification and admission procedure.

For MDS courses:

1. Appear for NEET MDS exam conducted on January 30, 2025.

2. Obtain marks more than cut-off marks in NEET MDS.

3. Apply for AIQ counseling or state-level counseling as applicable.

4. During counseling, opt for VYWSDCT and your desired specialisation.

5. Report to the college after allotment of seat for admission procedure.

For Ph.D programmes:

1. Check the website of the college or contact the admission office for notice.

2. Submit the required documents with the research proposal.

3. If any, appear in the entrance test / interview conducted by the college.

4. Once selected, submit the admission form in the college.

Degree Wise Admission Process

BDS: The college admits students to the 4-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery program based on NEET scores. The college has 100 seats for this program. The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and qualified in the NEET examination.

MDS: VYWSDCT offers five postgraduate specializations in dentistry, each with 2 seats:

  1. MDS Prosthodontics and Crown Bridge
  2. MDS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  3. MDS Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics
  4. MDS Periodontology
  5. MDS Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics

Admissions to these programs are based on NEET MDS scores. Candidates must have completed their BDS degree from a recognized institution to be eligible.

Ph.D: The college offers doctoral programs in three specializations:

  1. Ph.D in Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge
  2. Ph.D in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  3. Ph.D in Oral Pathology and Microbiology

Admission to Ph.D programs is probably on the basis of the academic background of the candidate, his research proposal, and performance in an interview. Candidates usually must have completed MDS in a specific specialty to be eligible.

  • Marks sheet of 10th and 12th standard with certificate
  • BDS degree certificate and mark sheets for the applicants of MDS
  • MDS degree certificate and mark sheets for the applicant of Ph.D
  • Valid ID proof
  • Passport size photographs
  • Caste certificate, if required
  • Any other document demanded by the college or counseling authority.
