Vidyasagar Primary Teacher Training Institute is situated in Haldia West Bengal which is an independent institute which aims to produce future teachers. This school with the co-educational system was founded in 2008 and has been contributing to the successes and failures of the primary education sector for more than ten years. The institute is located in a beautiful village named Amlat, Sutahata having a limited area of 1 acre but having all modern facilities. As we enrolment ninety six students in an academic year and have twelve faculty members, the institute provides close knit learning opportunities that enhance individual development.

College sports lovers can access college sports sections while the main auditorium is used for event and seminar purposes. All laboratories are well equipped to meet group practicals, and learning facilities requirements, and the IT facilities ensures students are up-to-date with technological World. As far as the meal is concerned, a cafeteria is present right inside the compound. It also has concern for the welfare of its students; it has hostel accommodation for boys and also for the girls in order to avail comfortable accommodation. A health centre with first aid equipments is also put in place, to make sure students are in good healthy state.

The Vidyasagar Primary Teacher Training Institute provides the coursework specialised in one single programme, namely, D.El.Ed or the Diploma in Elementary Education. This programme is a two years full programme, which prepares prospective teachers to teach in primary school. Intake for this course has been approved to admit 50 students only, a fact that clearly shows that this institute is capable of providing quality output due to the small sizes of classes.
