What is Oral Surgery
Oral surgery is a speciality of surgery in medical science which deals with treating injuries, damages caused and defects in the mouth and jaws. A dental specialist who has completed MDS (Master of Dental Sciences) in oral surgery performs these surgical procedures. Before MDS, they attend dental school as well to attain BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery).
The MDS course covers the study of dental sciences, which is more detailed. The techniques, causes, effects, types of diseases, their treatments and methods of prevention – all are covered and taught in the course. Along with that, they have to attend a residency program to practice and perform surgical procedures. MDS (Oral Surgery) offers plenty of opportunities, be it in research, academics, or hospitals and clinics. Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Oral Surgery
For the undergraduate course (BDS), the criteria are:
Must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in 12th with at least 50 per cent aggregate
Qualify NEET Exam (or equivalent university-specific exam)
For the postgraduate course (MDS (Oral Surgery)), the criteria are:
Minimum 50 per cent marks in BDS
One-year compulsory internship

Before MDS, students go to dental school for BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery). The BDS includes some subjects which are common to MBBS, along with the dental subjects.

Course Curriculum for Oral Surgery
The duration of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), which is an undergraduate course, is five years. Out of which, four years consist of academics and one year is for internship and practical experience. In this course, the basics of Dentistry are taught. After this course, they need to give a licensure exam to practice as a licensed General Dentist, or they can go for higher studies (MDS).
The duration of MDS (Master of Dental Surgery), which is a postgraduate course, is two to three years in which clinical and laboratory practices of surgery continue from the 2nd year. The course focuses on theoretical knowledge, practical & clinical skills, and writing research papers and training in the chosen speciality. After that, they go through a hospital-based residency program of four to six years to perform and practice surgical procedures before beginning their practice as an Oral Surgeon.

As per the last year's statistics you stand a fair chances in getting clinical seats.As per the last years cutoff you can get clinical seats in second and third rounds.In last years the cutoff went about 7000-8000 in some good colleges.So yes there is a fair chance for getting a good clinical seats.
