What is Periodontics
Oral Hygiene awareness in our country has led to a growing demand for Periodontics discipline. Periodontics is a specialized branch of dentistry that is related with the treatment of ailments affecting the dental tissues that support or surround the teeth, such as the gum tissue, alveolar bone, cementum, the periodontal ligament and the jawbones.

For Undergraduate Courses
Periodontics is a speciality of dentistry, i.e. it’s a specialization and therefore, can only be pursued after getting a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree at the undergraduate level.
To be eligible for pursuing BDS, the candidate must have cleared the Class 12th exams from a recognized board in India.
Candidates must have studied Chemistry, Physics, and Biology as mandatory subjects in class 12th along with English. Candidates should have an aggregate of 50% in class 12th results (along with 50% in PCB subjects), to be eligible for admission.
To get admitted into a Bachelor of Dental Surgery course, NEET UG entrance is conducted. Based on the performance in the entrance test, the student can get BDS admission in different dental colleges across the country.
For Postgraduate Periodontics Courses
Candidates who want admission to MDS in Periodontics must have attained the BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) degree from any institution or university recognized by the DCI-Dental Council of India.
They must have attained the BDS degree with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.
Colleges and institutes take admissions based on the candidate's performance in a relevant entrance exam.
Periodontics Entrance Exams
NEET MDS- NEET MDS is an eligibility requirement as well as ranking examination conducted by NBE, the National Board of Examinations (NBE). NEET MDS is the single most important entrance examination for admission into any postgraduate dental program offered by any institution in India.
Most dental colleges in India will accept the NEET MDS rank. Majority of the state exam boards also accept the NEET MDS score you have received for admission into multiple dental programs offered by state colleges and institutions. It is conducted in 51 cities across India, in English and Hindi languages.

The peripheral circulation is extremely important for transporting blood around the body, exchange of nutrients with tissues.
It comprises the systemic circulation, which supplies blood to all parts of the body except the lungs, and the pulmonary circulation, which supplies blood to the lungs. Its function is to alter the blood distribution to meet the needs of the different tissues.
