Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Faizabad Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

Nehru Library is the main library of the university. Nehru Library is equipped with all modern amenities and is situated in a magnificent two-story building covering an area of 3617 square meters. Nehru library performs several functions such as teaching, research, publication, conservation of knowledge and ideas, extension services, and interpretation. The clientele is students, teachers, research scholars, and occasionally alumni. The mission of the library is to provide information services and access to bibliographic, full text both in digital and printed form to support the scholarly and information needs of all students, faculty members, and staff. The library remains open, from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on all working days. Efforts have been made to keep abreast of information technology and introduce modern systems of library management and services. The database of books was prepared with SOUL software for automation of the library. The library was also connected to an Internet facility. The C.D.ROM of CAB, AGRICOLA, AGRIS, and AGRICON were subscribed to facilitated tremendous improvement in the use of the library for reference purposes, especially by the research students and staff.

The University has a departmental-based laboratories facility for the students.

The University has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The University has a canteen facility for staff and students.

Medical facilities are not hi-tech, however, the minimum medical aid to students for treatment of common ailments at the main campus, Kumarganj is provided. For this two “A” type residences are provided for the dispensary and one medical officer also resides at the main campus. The students are given medicines and in case of emergency/serious cases, the students are referred to the District hospital, Faizabad.

The University has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The University has a Gym facility for the students.

The university lays great emphasis on the role of games and sports to keep the students physically efficient, mentally alert, morally sound, and socially well-behaved. These activities are organized through 20 games and sports units like Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Indoor games, Kabaddi, Tennis, Kho-kho, Handball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Volleyball, and Yogic exercises under the overall supervision of University Sports Council/Dean Student’s Welfare. The University provides the required games and sports materials to the hostels as well as the university grounds.

The University has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

Being a residential university, the students of each college are required to reside in the hostels. It is mandatory because the course curricula periods start in the early morning and continue till the evening. The functioning of the Hostels is governed by the hostel rules and regulations. All the hostels are spacious and equipped with modern facilities. Currently, 2073 students are residing in 19 53 Most of the rooms in each hostel are double and triple seated. There is a common room with a colored television, cable facility, newspaper, etc. in each hostel. The hostel mess is equipped with a refrigerator, water cooler, and utensils in adequate quantity. the mess is run by the contractor under the guidance of the university. Generator facilities are provided in most of the hostels. In seven hostels volleyball, badminton, and table tennis facilities are also provided.

There is a common room with a colored television, cable facility, newspaper, etc. in each hostel. The hostel mess is equipped with a refrigerator, water cooler, and utensils in adequate quantity. Each hostel mess is run and managed by the students on a cooperative basis. Girl’s Hostel Mess is run by a contractor under the guidance of the university. Generator facilities are provided in most of the hostels. In seven hostels volleyball, badminton, and table tennis facilities are also provided.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The university has a separate wing as Directorate of Placement with One Director and Deputy Director each to facilitate the employment of outgoing/passed-out students of the university every year. The main endeavor of the Placement Cell of the university is to get the students placed in reputed multinationals, government organizations, NGOs, and Private Sectors by coordinating between the students and different private organizations.
