Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya Nadia has a dedicated placement cell. BCKV Nadia placement cell is responsible for handling all the matters related to the recruitment and training of students. According to the NIRF report of 2024, 83 UG students and 37 PG students were placed in BKCV Nadia placements 2023 with median salary offers of Rs 4.70 Lakhs and Rs 6.73 Lakhs respectively.

The objectives of the BCKV Nadia placement cell are — to help students for placement after graduation & post-graduation, to identify the industrial problems from industries and other corporate sectors suitable for students’ project work and so on. Students of the university are involved in interactive counselling sessions with the members of the placement cell. This helps the students in deciding what career path to take and increases their employability. BKCV Nadia has tie-ups with important national organisations to assist the students in getting suitable placements.

Campus interviews are conducted by various organisations regularly. The placement cell explores the opportunities for placing all its students, industries, government and financial institutions. Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya Nadia placement data shows that in the last 2 years, more than 100 students got placed in the department of agriculture of many states, departments of horticulture, nationalised banks, assistant professors in different universities, ICAR and so on.

BCKV Nadia Placement Process

Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya Nadia placement cell sends invitations to the companies.
Students have to register with the BKCV Nadia placement cell.
Registered students submit their resumes.
Students are then shortlisted by the concerned companies.
The selection process begins and involves written tests, group discussions, interviews, and several others.

Placements

Very much poor placement, students never get job opportunities after completing bsc or msc from the University. Placement cell doesn't working for so many years. You have to focus on other govt exams after completing bsc or other degrees. You can't depend on your university for placement.

Placement slightly better because low no of company comes for campusing. because it's is a government University and every one prepared for Government jobs...no one interested in private companies. If You interested in private companies then You can go.

Placements are average.Horticulture students dont get any job her.Jobs are only for the Agriculture students.Harsh but true.Few Banks come for placement and some fertilizer and seed company comes for placements.

Dear Aspirant,

Bidhan Chandra Krishi Vishwavidyalya (BCKV) is a public university affiliated to UGC and ICAR. The university is renowned for its focus upon education and research in the field of agriculture and horticulture. The main campus of the University is situated in Mohanpur, in Nadia district of West Bengal.

Candidate must be born on or before 01.06.2000.
All the candidates must be a permanent resident of West Bengal. However for ICAR’s nominees there is no such restriction.
Candidate must be medically fit.
Candidate must have passed Higher Secondary examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, securing at least 50% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ST/PH candidates) in aggregate from WBCHSE or any other recognized board of education.
