M. Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering is a two-year (4 semesters) programme. A student needs to earn at least 64 credits, with at least a CGPA of 2.4 (in a 4 point grading system) to graduate with M. Tech degree. M.Tech (ECE) is a four-semester programme. After the completion of a 4 semester, students will be conferred with IIITB’s master’s degree in M.Tech in Electronic Systems Design (ESD). The first three semesters of the programme constitute academic coursework. During the fourth semester, a student can either take up an industry internship or pursue academic research in the institute leading to an M. Tech. thesis.

Curriculum:

For the first semester, students have to choose the courses worth of least 16 credits from the following list of courses:

Digital CMOS VLSI Design (4 Credits)
Analog CMOS VLSI Design (4 Credits)
Machine Learning (4 Credits)
Mathematics for Machine Learning (4 Credits)
Networking and Communication (4 Credits)
System Software (2 Credits) *
System design with FPGA (2 Credits) *
Principles of Embedded Systems (2 Credits) *

The students have to choose 4 elective courses in the second and the third semester. The last semester will be thesis/internship, where they can choose the course to specialise in one of the following areas.

VLSI Systems (VLSI)
Networking and Communication (NC)
Signal Processing and Pattern Recognition (SP)

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum qualification for admission to any of M.Tech. at IIITB is 65% in four-year bachelor's degree in engineering (i.e. B.E., B.Tech., or equivalent).
Candidates who have first-division degree in the 3-year undergraduate programme followed by M.Sc with first division in any of the physical sciences, or an MCA degree with first class, can apply.
Besides the above-mentioned criteria, students also need to have first division or equivalent in 12th (or equivalent) grade.

Admission Details

Admission to M.Tech. is based on the GATE score in a related discipline and the availability of seats.
GATE scores from the following disciplines will be considered for admission to M.Tech in ECE.

EC - Electronics and Communication Engineering

IN - Instrumentation Engineering

EE - Electrical Engineering

College Infrastructure

Our college has many classes and laboratories. There is a great Wi Fi service provided by the college all over the campus. The food provided in the mess is also very good here. The hostels are really kept clean and tidy. They have a staff to look after cleanliness. Classrooms are well maintained.
