Very good infrastructure all facilities available like laboratory, sports ground, digital classroom and everything even college has very precious surrounding and field is available to for experiment and research
Curriculum is very well designed that covers over 8 semester and throughout the program experiment based learning approach is followed,on hand experience of horticulture is given to candidate summing it good ciricumlum
Placement are not that much great if we consider industry as a whole u have to do post graduation either msc or mba to get descent placement, sum placement opportunities are provided by college for needy students
Very nice infrastructure with big campus, library is also good ,sport complex with gym present, digital class room are there, laboratory for experiment, computer lab , own field for studies and doing research related work
All teachers are very enthusiastic and ciricumlum of course is very relevant with technology, curriculum consist of 8 semester last year consist of rural horticulture work experience and experimental learning program to get hand on experience
Placement is provided at par with industry, frankly speaking There is not that much scope for placement after this course you have to opt for post graduation or do mba to get placement, but you can start your business in agritech
Very good institute with large alumni base ,good environment for preparation of civil services examination
The college infrastructure is good infrastructure and attractive mostly the main building of college which is has its own historical history . Which has big classrooms and laboratories are well equiped and maintained .
I studied their BSc (Hons.) Horticulture which 4 years degree program and the writing about the quality of teaching then is not good so far because the university is not fillled the vacancy in our college and also they not upadated the curriculum they are teaching still to us the banned chemicals which are used in pesticides.
College is not offering any placements now because most of the students preparing for MPSC/UPSC so students don't take placement and also the company which are came in campus not offering good packages they offer 15K per month and we are the students from MH top most agriculture colllege and this kind of placements according to our knowledge is not enough.
Around 20k to 30K cost of course per year. According to me they only teach therotical knowledge but practically they gave only weeding but i like the one subject that is post harvest management in horticulture crops.
Campus environment is vey friendly and good and feels like you are came in nature when goes to filed. you Can't believe that u r in living in the heart of city and get this freshly air because campus has 350 acre of land.
Nothing
First of all the college has separate building under the college of agriculture pune. Although the building is also work as department of horticulture of agriculture college pune. There are 4main classroom ,not in much good condition, but ok according to the class strength. Classes have good projector facility, although they accomodate in small area still we have separate room for each department ie.soil science, entomology, fruit science etc. drinking water facility is not up to mark. Library is near from the college. Regarding equipment,we don't have separate soil laboratory, neither well dissection equipment ,we have rely on departments of agriculture college. As both college are attach to each other,so laboratory does not make much big issue at all.but still condition of our college labs are worst. Washroom facility is not much good. Also we do not get wify system, for practical purpose, yes we have large acres of land. Where you can observe and study variety of crops, plants flowers . We got hostel facility as well as mess within college campus . With affordable rate.so there is no problem for living ,hostel area is good . Liberary is preety good in condition and has variety of books, at this time you can access library from 6am to 10.30 pm.as the college is situated in centre of pune ,you can access other facilities like (hospital, coaching classes) quickly.
Regarding Academics it's mainly depends on our goal. Whether you are interested in agriculture and higher studies or just want degree for competitive examination. As the degree syallabus is not much tough .you can pass the exam within 1 day ago study also. Some teachers are very good in teaching, where they communicate in English hindi language to. They try to provide practical knowledge good. But we don't get in all subjects. It like 70-30 ratio. From my experience of 3 years We get very less practical knowledge. If you are seeking for practical knowledge, then this college will not fulfill your desire. Curriculum is not updated, there are not any prescribed details syllabus or notes avilable, you have to make your own notes . It is the biggest problem I face during college, I didn't get accurate data source for study. Although teacher refers books but again it's not much effective. As we do not get huge amount of time to read such books and make notes from them.definatly poor condition in notes availability as compared to agriculture colleges.
No,it's big no for college placements. In whole Maharashtra there is only one private college ,that offers job placements (30-50k/month) . No campus placement in undergraduate courses are available in our college. As we did not get much practical knowledge, company refuses to take campus placement round ,and if you apply from outside on degree basis, still you will may get sale related jobs only in this field.
As our college is government University aided . Fee structure is good. Per semester we have to give 15-18k (including 6k for hostel fee) for open category students. It's very well if you want to study for competitive or agriculture related exams in Pune City.
As Our first year went online due to COVID we get only 3 years in college , and our academics is not completed within the time,so all other semester was shortened. The main and big problem I face in college life is having exams for near about one months. And next coming within 1.5 month gaps. It was very frustrating, we dont have energy till the last papers, passing system was also not good .If in case if you unable to clear any subjects then you have wait for one whole year to reappear .it was very difficult when you are in 3 Rd year ,one of my friend get one whole year down as he was unable to attend the one subject due to medical issue. For me I college life was not feel much effective, because there was no scope for personality development structure, despite of living in Pune.city you will feel outside form the world, college classes and practicals ruin our time much and doing work in field also exhaust mental energy. I was interested in competative exams ,from my point of view ,degree is not useful, we don't get sufficient time for self study. If you are coming for competitive exam(orher than agricultre),I will strongly recommend please don't come ,you can go for Ferguson college. Where you will get ample time ,Good environment, and stage for personality development too. Otherwise the campus natural environment is good , a lot of free space ,well developed ground etc.
College infrastructure is really good with all facilities like smart boards, well maintained and clean classrooms. Library is well equipped with all the books and wifi facility including e-library. Laboratories have all the necessary facilities and equipment for students .
I am pursuing Msc in Floriculture and Landscaping and I am very pleased to be part of this college . Quality of teaching is nice and pratical experience is acquired more through field visits and tours .
Placement cell every year is bringing excellence package companies to our campus and students are actively participating in interviews and college is providing internships through various sectors to students.
It’s good if you are having interest in this field . Mostly students are coming here who are aiming for competitive exams . As it is government affiliated college fees are very minimal compared to private.
There’s a nice campus life having a big area of campus and the 100 years old infrastructure building . Canteen is provided and every year cultural fest is organised and also many competitions including extracurricular activities are organised.
This college had a good infrastructure and had a very big and beautiful campus and college have all the basic facilities, the library is very big and have good amount of books, college also have a sports center.
In this college I studied BSc Agriculture and the teaching I feel is average and very few teachers are good in terms of teaching but most of the teachers are supportive , the curriculum here is very much based on theory.
In this college many students are pursuing competitive exams so less number of students are interested in the placements and also this college doesn't have a placement committee so the placements drive does not take place every year
The college infrastructure, facilities and equipments are adequate. The lab equipments are poorly maintained and not upto the mark. There is no drinking water facility in the college building. The classrooms have lcd projectors . Libraries, sports centre, hostels, are well maintained, clean and used. The food at the hostel mess is hygienic and healthy.
I completed my bsc Hons horticulture course from 2019-23, because I have keen interest about plants in general. The quality of teaching and the faculty are poor, the concepts are not explained indepth and lectures are monotonous. Practical knowledge is not given much importance . The curriculum is not up-to-date and no recent agricultural developments are included, hence the students are not job ready with the necessary skills .
In the final year hardly one or two companies come for placements, which are not even related to the field. Only 5 students were placed both from agriculture and horticulture, with low salaries. The placement experience wasn't inclusive at all.
The course cost was around 4k per year as it is a government aided college. But the returns were not worth the money paid.
This college doesn’t have a good infrastructure, we had an average infrastructure and facilities but all the classrooms have a projector equipment and doesn’t have a wifi in college also the college is maintained
I studied Bachelors in Horticulture here the quality of teaching i feel is average only few teachers teaches good the faculty is supportive and i think the curriculum here is very much leaned towards theory and less practical.
Since the students here are willing to pursue competitive exams they ate not very much interested in the placements and also in college very few companies visit for the placements and due to this the percentage of placed students Is also very low
It is government college and construction is bit old but College campus is very big and very beautiful. Other facilities include canteen, hostel , computer labs, central library, sports ground, auditorium.
I am currently doing my MBA in agriculture bussiness. All teachers here in MPKV are really good and are highly qualified. Curriculum is designed for students to become industry ready and also equips students with soft and hard skills .
Major agriculture companies comes on campus for marketing and sales roles . College placement rate is very good . Average package around 2 lakhs per annum. Highest package offered is 6 lakhs per annum.
Education quality is good and fees is low that why this college is really value for your money
College campus is beautiful and campus life is good
Very good college one of the best in country
The College of Agriculture , Pune is very old colleges . established in 1958 and College has own historical building . Classrooms are common and separated for departments . Sport ground is very much big and gymnasium is there is sport complex . Library building is separate.
i was studied Agriculture and techniques of agriculture . Curriculum has wide range of variation . research opportunities are provided for students by college. Faculty is good and teaches with practically.
very poor in terms of placements. Placements are given when student approach . Average placement range 3.5 lakhs per annum only . The placement coordinator regularly float the recruiters advertisements but follow up not taken seriously by students.
Hello Student
You have not mentioned the name of your college and the state you are domicile to. As you are talking about admission in veterinary science and animal husbandry then the direct admission in any college is not possible. You have to go through the NEET UG exam for veterinary science and animal husbandry admission. Whether you get admission in private college in management quota system even you have to appear for NEET UG exam and have to qualify with qualifying marks that is for general candidate 50th percentile, SC ST OBC for 40 percentile, for PWD candidate with 45th percentile marks in NEET UG exam. For bvsc & animal husbandry candidates need to get at least 350 plus marks in NEET UG exam.
Hope this will help.
