48 MonthsBachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Instrumentation and Control Engineering is a four-year (8 Semesters) full-time undergraduate engineering program offered at National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli.
Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering was established in the year 1993 and the first batch of students graduated from the department in the year 1997. It offers one Under-Graduate programme (B.Tech.), one Post-Graduate programme M.Tech. (Process Control and Instrumentation) and also research programmes (M.S. and Ph.D.) in the various fields of Instrumentation and Control Engineering for both regular and part-time scholars. M.Tech. (PCI) is an interdisciplinary programme. The administrative control for this course will be carried out by Dept. of ICE from 2014-16. Faculty from Chemical Engineering Department and Instrumentation and Control Engineering Department will deliver lectures and organize practical classes Nearly 92 students are admitted each year into the Bachelors Programme through AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) of which around 10% of the total number of students are admitted through NRI and DASA quota and nearly 28 students are admitted each year into the Masters Programme with valid GATE Score. The curriculum is being updated regularly with inputs from industries and reputed educational institutions. The department with its state of the art laboratories, as well as young and dynamic faculty is involved in providing quality education at both UG and PG levels.

Candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC / ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
Required Criteria based on Class 12th / Equivalent qualifying Examination - Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject.

Applicant must have passed the qualifying examination, i.e. Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent from any system of education as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (www.aiuweb.org).

Applicant should have completed successfully Mathematics, Physics and one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) in 11th and / or 12, as applicable in the respective boards

Applicant must have secured a minimum of at least 60% aggregate marks (average of all subjects of qualifying examination taken together) or 6.50 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent in the qualifying examination. In case, CGPA on a different scale is awarded OR if only grades are awarded, percentage / CGPA equivalence provided by the principal examination authorities will only be considered. Applicants should have a minimum total valid score of 1440 in SAT Subject Tests (Subjects: Mathematics Level 2, Physics and Chemistry).
Residential Requirement
Applicants must be Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin / Overseas Citizen of India who have completed the qualifying examination in any country (including India)
OR
Indian Nationals studying abroad.
In case of Indian Nationals, they must have completed the 11th and 12th standard or equivalent from outside India.
Admission to Undergraduate Engineering Program for the candidates from India at NITs, IIITs, Other centrally funded Technical Institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/other Qualifying Examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main).
The quality of the hostel facilities is good. The hostel plays an important role in our college life, so according to that, it is very excellent. The food served in the hostel is excellent and infrastructure is good
Well-developed rooms and furniture. The surroundings will be so clean. And we can see greenery everywhere in the college. The canteen was so good and clean, and it maintained hygiene everywhere. The food was so good and tasty in the canteen. The quality will be good.
This college provides a network, laboratories, and classrooms. The library was also excellent. The facilities were good in this college. The food served in the mess and canteen was good. The medical facilities were available. Sports and games were also excellent.
